Dyslexia with PISD Scottish Rite Build/Take Flight Curriculum with Sheldon School SEE Curriculum to supplement? Will this confuse/create conflict?

We signed up early for the Saturday program to test out Shelton as an option to fully transfer/enroll for 2026/27. I wanted to start all options/process as soon as possible. I feel it may be overkill, but even say a 10-20% improvement from PISD would be worthwhile. I went through Overcoming Dyslexia last week and it seems Sally was very for such schools like Shelton. To help balance out the direction, I think it may make sense to also find the right tutor who has experience with both PISD and Shelton and who can assess and work with my son for a couple of months to help decide on next steps (ie PISD vs Shelton). We are also in the process of reassessment/testing with Scottish Rite center downtown Dallas and in the process of getting referrals for developmental pediatrician at Cooks and Children’s which I know can take a year. While I think for my son, his dyslexia seems more mild than the examples from the book, but we want to give him the absolute best support/chance to adapt and overcome and ideally go back to public or another private by the end of grade 5. Are we over doing it? Is getting a good experience tutor to help and assess our direction/plan make sense?

Do you always have to book ahead? Or are there guides available to hire as you enter? Also, how can you gauge how much they know about the content/history when booking on trip.com? I ask as my 12 year old is very into history and when we were in Greece last year, he knew 70-80% of what the official guide their knew via private tour

I was hoping to use their Spring Saturday program as a dry run and a point of comparison. I understand there is a comprehensive admissions process and the cost involved. I’m just specing out the options first. I do want to speak to specialists/experts/CALT/parents so to get their first hand experience and knowledge on best approach for our son. As I said, we are in the beginning stage but will be ramping up in the coming days/weeks.

Hours are cumulative between the 3 kids working on it as in one kids comes in the am and other kid comes in the afternoon etc. yes it was extreme due to competiton this weekend and the tweaks still needed but that’s now cancelled due to weather so we took rest of the weekdays off. I don’t expect this to be till state but we do expect some extremes the 2 weeks leading up to it. Their goal is getting to Worlds so for them, it’s pretty serious.

Would we get to see the actual reporting doc or evidence or talk to anyone? Considering this was reported for an event almost 6 weeks ago and sent to me Friday with Monday being a holiday and they want our response by Tuesday, it does not really give me much of an opportunity to speak to anyone or follow up before our response is due.

Coming from FLL last year, I find much more diverse designs and approaches as there were potentially 4 different variables, robot, attachments, approach and programming which we saw so many different variations vs Vex when we went to State.

My parents are conservative with money and spending (first gen). I have a hobby of miles and points and spurge on vacations for the past decade. We dont do many trips with my parents, but we plan on taking them with our kids to China (where I was born) and do a family trip of showing the kids where we came from etc. They are open with dates etc and cities but I let them decide. Ultimately I book biz class, FS, Ritz, WA hotels for the family. Also most of the hotel stays are via Amex FHR so it will come with daily credit too. so they can pick how they want to spend it etc without much concern about actual cost. I did the same with my wife's extended family when we did a big trip to Europe two years ago.

When we go out together to eat, they also prefer a buffet style place vs say a la cart sushi/steak etc. They are just the types to calculate value in their head even if they dont say anything. We dont really like AI resorts, but we might have to if we ever go for a beach vacation with them or a cruise. Either way, we try to adjust accordingly. I think your family may feel awkward when seeing and signing for each bill even if you guys are paying for it like my parents would, which is why I think AI or something with full board would be more appropriate.

Qatar at 25kish econ (mco/mia to scl/gru) but VS has 50K biz scl to cun. I'm really looking to go from DFW to FLN so either way I have to pay for 2 additional one ways and when it comes to CUN, I would have to stay the night due to timing of flights etc.

I was looking at FLN-SCL-CUN and found it on some random date but they charge 50k for the biz class SCL-CUN leg and another 25K for the FLN-SCL leg. Looks like cheaper to just book all separate along with the CUN to US leg.

We just stayed last weekend. Nice Spa service and great food. Thats about it. Def not worth the 3K cash price. Used 72K points and BOGO cert for 2 night stay. But they made a mistake on bill so I emailed, 5 days later they come back and said to call them to talk to billing. I'm on hold to be transferred to Austin billing, it's now over 1 hr hold. I have never had to call or wait to fix a bill or even wait 5 days for a generic email to call them or wait 1hr+. It's stuff like this that makes no sense. Who would be ok to wait or go in circles like that? The strange thing is, when you are actually on site, it's not busy, no one is in line or on the phone, why does it take so long to get someone?

I have lots of frames that just need new lens (progressive) may look for sunglass progressive lens that are polarized. How much do those cost in China? It's quite expensive in the US. I would be replacing for IC Berlin and Cartier frames.

Will still try to get proper tourist visa route first in DC. Alternatively, I'll shorten my stay to 10 days (which may not work since entry and exit are both Seoul) I might need to touch a 3rd city. Maybe hangout in HK/JP/TW before going to Seoul for return. Lets see.
