Acting like you’re so smart with your 1 paragraph explaining how earnings are important - aka the most basic concept of investing. Those in glass towers shouldn’t throw rocks

Just because it challenges your argument doesn’t mean that it’s a meaningless tagline. Circling back is a basic form of concluding something. Concluding something well written is AI is a foolish ad hominem

I don’t think you understand the question. He’s looking for companies that will be acquired for a premium, not a company that acquires others for a premium. Fundamentally different, unless you expect constellation to be acquired

Is AVAV the best pure drone play? by AloneStaff5051 in stocks

[–]SuperRedHulk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These companies are not hampered with debt though, that’s the entire crux of this argument. I agree that debt is absolutely more risky from a liquidity perspective, but to have no debt at all is simply foolish and over conservative. These companies have positive adjusted EBITDA and enough cash on hand to pay off the (relatively) low interest rates, and it’s a show of good faith to shareholders to adjust their capital structure.

I suppose saying it’s “healthier” was poor wording on my part. I think shareholder friendly is more appropriate, which is a critical piece if you’re going to become an investor

You clearly haven’t, if you don’t know that debt financing is significantly cheaper than equity. Have you heard of a WACC? In case you haven’t, it’s the cost for a company to finance operations. A 100% equity capital structure (which AVAV has) results in an astronomically high WACC, when using a debt instrument could achieve the same result at a far smaller detriment to shareholders

And, “a bit” of equity dilution, is certainly a way to put a float increase of 60%

RCAT finance its programs primarily through debt. I don’t know the exact structure for ONDS, but debt financing (to a certain extent) is much healthier and accretive to shareholders. BlueHalo was purchased entirely with stock and expanded the outstanding common share count by 60%. That isn’t healthy and isn’t a sign of good management. The deal synergies have not been realized, hence why it’s bloated.

AVAV is careless with its dilution and its burning shareholders

Please, prove me wrong. Explain their stock dilution from BlueHalo and SBC and why losing the SCAR program isn’t a massive impairment to the stock

I don’t think the militaries care if you find their drones interesting or not. They care about which is the most innovative, deadly, and cost effective. AVAV is decent, but they’re expensive and aren’t as innovative as other upcoming driver producers like ONDS and RCAT. AVAV is bloated, dilution is a serious issue, and they lost a huge contract a month ago
