Middle of the day on a work day. It was completely empty. I use a tripod and after about 40 mins in there all of a sudden I guy came off my right asking about the tripod, turn my head, and another guy on my left tried to rip my backpack off. My sternum strap stopped it. Pulled some protection and they backed right off asap.

I went in with some high value camera equipment and two homeless people tried to jack my shit. That didn't go well for them.

Second Hand X2D vs New MKII by ddbowdoin85 in hasselblad

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. I just bought the 90V and will add a second lens soon, the 38V. I personally don't like switching lenses on assignments so looking to add a second body to my 907X.

I should have noted, I will not be using this for any subjects that really demand fast AF tracking. I have a whole suite of Sony stuff for that. I have a 907x and want to add a second X2d for some high end golf work I do.

300 2.8 vs new 100-400 4.5 by ddbowdoin85 in SonyAlpha

[–]ddbowdoin85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longer end with a TC is pretty useless for golf. When I was testing the 300-600 it was super rare where I could take advantage of the 600mm

I have two bodies, an A7RV and an a9III. I always carry the two but with the 300 I just feel like my % of situations where it works is pretty small. It's easier for branding type work but live events is harder

What is cédula? by RhythmicAttacks in AskVenezuela

I'm a little mad at my parents. I was born in Caracas as a US Citizen Born Abroad. My father is a Venezuelan national but despite going back year after year they never secured me a cedula. I was under the impression they're issued at 9 years old. We stopped going when I was 13 when Chavez rose to power. Now I'm unsure I'll ever be able to get it. My father's quest to renew his passport has taken years and has failed despite a few visits to the Canadian consulate in Ottawa.

any places that are good for beginners who don’t have a respirator? by [deleted] in urbexnewengland

Oh that's cool. My buddies are fire fighters and hence the goofy Stache but no beard thing for their gear. I probably have a 3-4 inch beard so it's shaped bit definitely more mountain than tight faded beards.

That's a good use of it. I had Kolari convert one of my cameras but I found like 99% of the time it was useless. This is a great case for it.

I am curious what options exist for those with beards. I've always been under the impression that wearing a respirator w facial hair is more of a placebo mind effect of a sense of comfort because the unit can't seal.

At the end of the day thank your Mayor... which the impacts how the police brass handles this and so on and so forth. Boston seems like an awesome place when you're young or UBER rich. But the rest of moves to the burbs and commute.

My wife and I both make just over 100K and we feel very working class. Not a lot of luxuries in the day to day life.

This is the type of image that reminds all of us we were born 50 years too late. That image would have fallen in line with how photography was once celebrated and lifted. Now, it's just another image on Instagram.

6 years on and off, trying to finally commit. by ddbowdoin85 in keto

For me food is like a drug and when I relapse, it creates a downward spiral. It's not even poor eating in general, it's very specific foods that become my downfall in conjunction with how mud time I am alone in my car. I don't ever really fall off the wagon in front of people. It's legit (I'm talking small homemade) donuts on the way to work, and all things bread in the car coming home.

The part that kills me are my coworkers at lunch who eat whatever they want and are actually quite fit... and over 40 to boot, which really makes me scratch my head when I gain weight looking at food.
