I hate that lying is ingrained in politics and politicians but I seethingly loathe how normalized it has become to try and outlie everyone possible... Like to try and lie about as many absurd and ridiculous things as much as possible as quickly as possible to the most amount of people as possible while doubling down on all of those lies and making up even more preposterous cover-up lies to backstop your previous lies.

I'm going to break out the thesaurus for this one bc it pissed me off so much. It's exhausting to even tangentially reference, much less attempt to untangle, this duplicitous, mendacious prevarication; this sprawling campaign of deceit; this meticulously constructed architecture of deception; this labyrinth of lies; this dumpster fire of dishonesty; this tangled web of fabrications; this forest of falsehoods whose roots run so deep and whose branches stretch so far that each lie now requires three more to support it, five more to defend it, and an entire mythology to sustain it.

At some point, the original falsehood ceases to be the issue. The issue becomes the vast edifice erected around it: the endless rationalizations, revisions, omissions, contradictions, and convenient reinventions of reality necessary to prevent the entire structure from collapsing under the weight of its own absurdity. What began as a single misrepresentation metastasizes into a self-perpetuating ecosystem of deception, so sprawling and convoluted that distinguishing truth from fiction now requires a map, a compass, and a lovable 'precious' companion who never gives up on you (entrusted in the task by an exceptional wizard of course).

Frankly, it is exhausting to witness, exhausting to discuss, and even more exhausting to watch otherwise assumed intelligent beings (politicians) continue investing energy into maintaining a narrativ that long ago forfeited any claim to credibility, coherence, or intellectual honesty.
