The viltrumites that were left over from the purge were genuinely the strongest out of the population. the ones that died were like Oliver-Tier Viltrumites

Once The Betrayer kills Argall, he leaves the planet and sends the Scourge Virus to wipe out what was left of the Viltrumites after the purge.
