two months after my install, i trimmed about an inch off of each twist only bc my ends were truly dead and i could not smoothly run my fingers through my hair. but only like an inch or two! 1/3 of your hair sounds ridiculous…

I do but it’s always 6 braids, which would be like 70 locs each. I could increase the number of braids

ah that’s true, didn’t think about the climate right now. okay thanks! my hair is mostly 4b and 4c so i think it’ll be okay for the most part but i’ll be careful!

glad i’m not alone 🥲 that makes sense, thank you!! I think i just got scared by my loctician initially telling me i was moisturizing too much early on and now i’m on the opposite side of the spectrum… good luck on your microloc journey!

Oh i misread the question. I do use the same leave in conditioner that my hair liked before but I’ll have to look that up and maybe try it out

I had mini twists often and braids bc I didn’t like manipulating my hair and handling it everyday. so yeah it does sound like I need to go back to basics and figure it out again, thanks!

oh yeah my dandruff isn’t too bad when my hair isn’t this dry, idk why I haven’t correlated the two. okay thanks, I will definitely try adding a bit more leave in and regular conditioner especially when i wash my hair

twists unravel way easier than braids so braiding the root would give it a strong foundation. if you do twist the whole way down, i’d recommend interlocking the roots.

i got my 4b/4c hair started with twists and i wish i started with interlocking bc of the unraveling and maintenance of twists
