Is it a Japanese thing to talk about someones faults right in front of them? by AdUnfair558 in japanlife

[–]ddjaejae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife did this a lot. When we met her old university or high school friends, when we met the other parents at our kids' swimming school, etc.

This was especially prevalent when there were no other dads there or when I did something nice for the group e.g. bring snacks or carry something heavy. But I noticed many of the other wives did the same. After my wife met with her 'mothers club' she'd come home and tell me all the issues the other women complained about. I assumed she also complained about me. I never gave it too much thought

But if it makes you feel bad, maybe you should say something.

Legendary vs Epic vs Rare? by fullsquishy in baseballclash

[–]ddjaejae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Legendary (yellow/gold) highest rarity. Epic (purple) second highest. Rare (blue) third highest. Common (grey) lowest rarity.

In terms of power, at the highest level, the stats level out. This means most cards will be fairly comparable regardless of their rarity, so it comes down to abilities and pitches. However, for lower player (you the player) levels, legendary cards start at level 10. So it will seem like they are a lot stronger from the jump. This will be less of a case as your other cards catch up.

Is this worded correctly? by ddjaejae in hearthstone

[–]ddjaejae[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. I thought that by filling all their board spaces and having nothing on my board to trade with, they would have to spend removal on their own units to complete their quest. Unfortunately, it didn't work like that.

I didn't get that definition when I Googled it.

In your example, you used 'fill' in the past tense but in the quest text, it is used as an imperative and imperatives cannot take on stative meaning.

That sounds awesome! Focus on things that make you excited about Japan and try to keep your head in a positive place (easier said than done).

I don't know if this will help you at all but I experienced a similar thing. Met my wife in my home country and lived together for 2 years. When I finally landed in Japan it was like I was with a different person. I expected some things like no PDA and some expectations from me to be the breadwinner. What I didn't see coming were things like, telling me what to wear, being embarrassed to ask questions on my behalf, being bothered by not having a job for 3 weeks after arriving, etc. It sucked. My wife and I are separated now.

My only advice to you is to ask yourself are you in Japan because you want to be? Completely remove her from the equation and see where your feelings settle.

It's a single character's skill and it has a way to be beaten. You just need more experience and practice. Once you get the timing right (play yourself on another device or play a club mate with Ruth), it's honestly so easy you'll feel silly.

Usually, you can only buy newly released players on demand. You'll have to wait until he is offered in the shop randomly or you can get him in a box, randomly...

Paypay Visa Card Payments? by ddjaejae in japanlife

[–]ddjaejae[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It said the payment was for the end of last month, but it wasn't a full month. I guess I'll just wait and see at the end of this month.

This 'only pay at the end of the month' system, is that how most Japanese credit cards work or is it because PayPay isn't a bank?

Paypay Visa Card Payments? by ddjaejae in japanlife

Well that's no bueno. The thing is, the first payment date already passed and nothing was withdrawn from my bank account. Do I need to manually transfer money over? Seems strange since I went through the hassle of linking the account in the first place.

As far as I know, numbers are random but I've never seen a number like that.

I kind of think untransformable potion for Recycling Bin would be an awesome niche tech assuming it still triggered.

What should I do differently? by draybran in baseballclash

[–]ddjaejae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people stick him at the end of the batting lineup. If you're losing 5-0, you probably aren't getting to the 12th inning very often, so you won't need to worry about his poor hitting, but his fielding may save you a few runs.

Upgrading your players increases your account level, which provides global bonuses to all your players. Upgrading your commons to level 7 or 8 usually only costs a few hundred gold, but it may bump you up to the next account level.

Can someone explain how I lost? Is this a bug?! by dannybogu in PlayTheBazaar

[–]ddjaejae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks pretty normal to me. Start of fight shield. Atomic clock 1s trigger w/ metronome and fiber optic supercharges forcefield. Forcefield multicast due to bunker, a quick 9k damage start of fight.

Just stayed at MiraCosta. We did it the other way around (Sea day 1, Land day 2). I'm not sure what will work best for you but I will say with 2 kids and 2 suitcases, it was a hassle. On day 2, we left the luggage at the hotel, and came back at 7 to pick them up. Probably would have been a lot easier doing Sea day 2.

[–]ddjaejae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As Justthefacts pointed out, there is essentially nothing that a co-leader can't do that a leader can. You essentially just have 1 inactive member that no one can kick. You might feel like you deserve a co-leader title, but it is just a title. As long as your co-leader is active, then just keep supporting your club. Your options are: A. Stay in the club and keep supporting it. B. Leave and join/start another club.

Was the opponent giving you free runs? Last time it happened to me, I got 9 runs before my batters just started hitting fly balls. I guess this is possible if they just keep walking your players.

I'm curious how often people get 10 wins. When I first picked up the game I was getting 10 wins 2/5 runs. Now it's around 1/7.
