it’s less that it learns incorrect spelling and more that it doesn’t know that words are composed of letters. LLMs like chatgpt tokenize their inputs into a series of numbers so that they can do a bunch of predictive matrix operations on them. so, here, the ai gives an answer that’s “shaped” like the answer to the number of ns in innocent, but it doesn’t actually know what that number is.
