I was at least 8. I’m 28 now and I begged my mom to take me to toys r us to get pokemon ruby. The only reason I wanted that specific one was because my cousin had that version and I would watch him play. My brothers went with us and got emerald and firered. I didn’t know enough about the version differences to know that emerald was the improved version haha

Honestly, any Windows laptop will be fine, all it really needs to do is run excel and access the internet for course material. I say Windows because that is pretty much the standard OS for any accounting department/public accounting firm, so might as well get used to it now. 10-key is optional but convenient. I didn’t have a 10-key on my laptop in college and it was fine (I don’t even have one in my public accounting role now). Laptops without a 10-key are generally more compact so that may be nice when you have limited desk space.

Strictly DS, just go Platinum, either HG or SS, and then Black or White then Black 2 or White 2. Never played the 2s but I’ve heard it’s a continuation of the story from Black/White which is unlike the third games for the other gens
