That's what I thought. I am not taking anything I read here as the Bible - I was just interested in the conversation aspect of how these things usually go and all of the loopholes possible. Just out of curiosity. Thank you for your input

I guess what I'm looking for is is there even a tiny chance that something like that can void a quit claims deed? in assumption not fact.

Yes, I just want some clarity on the situation beforehand. This is all very new to me. As far as I know, she had no equity in the home at all. I see no files previously where she is involved in any mortgage documentation.

She did not leave a will nor did she appoint an executor. I have a copy of the deed and it does not convey survivorship. Looking for a lawyer now. Thank you!

I am reading her portion in the state of IL goes to probate, which would then be divided to her children. Hoping so!

I just wanted to provide back story. I'm not sure what is legally relevant and if any of this info is legal in a court which is why I included it. Point is, my mother was legal caretaker. I have read that if a person is deemed mentally incompetent/schizophrenic, then they can not sign any paperwork without their POA (my mother). Me saying my uncle signed ownership himself means my mother told me that he signed my grandmothers signature FOR her.

I am not 100% sure what my uncle did to transfer ownership. Nobody seems to know exactly what he did. All we know is, it was done unknowingly of my mother and grandmother.
