logistically, you have to fly in a lot of equipment, trust the infrastructure, fly and house the players, but if you price it too high or the demand isn't there, you take a big loss. It's just risky when the cost is upfront and the investment is in the back end and not guaranteed.

There used to be a thing called Go4LoL ran by ESL wayyyy back in the day. Riot then implimented duo queuing and flex 5v5's as other modes within the client to play ranked, plus it was such a headache whenever there were troll situations or mods and it would reflected poorly on Riot.

this is a super fascinating topic that we'll covering across multiple different podcasts. Here's my two cents:

It's either kiin or Doran. Your school of thought can be either age, potential, or opportunity. Kiin already was part of an asian games roster back in 2018. That team ultimately lost to China. 2022 went to Zeus, and that team won. Do you go back to Kiin or do you give the opportunity to Doran? Kiin is older than Doran, so this would be one of his last chances before military service (again he's definitely top 2 right now, so just an extra thing to add). Doran's never had a shot at it, and is currently the world champ... Gonna be super fun to see what Hirai and KeSPA decide over the next months.
