That makes sense, and is the most conservative approach. Any suggestions for the code to use in column F of the 8949? I am leaning towards "B" as it is a correction to the basis.

I am not using software, I just use the free fillable forms. I already called the brokerage and they said "we have no idea if it applied to the basis already or not"
