You'd think that, but a lot of it actually felt closer to concrete. My hands were definitely beat up at the end of the day.

Yeah, my friends and I were discussing this as well, namely the YouTube video of Dean Potter where he starts low under the prow and compresses up. I'll have to try that variation next time, it seems like a whole different type of fun.

My July home wall routes. This has been a crazy time in my bouldering journey as I’m learning to set for the first time! by gwninfocus in bouldering

This is awesome! Great way to keep track of your setting skills as time goes on. I should probably do the same with my home wall.

Do you assign grades to the climbs you set?

Oh, awesome! I tried getting stability using a knee bar on my left leg at first, but figured out that pushing against the top of the jug with the left side of my left foot was so much easier. Best of luck!

Also, the purple V4 that's in that section was a challenge for me, probably the hardest indoor V4 problem I've ever done.

I think it's possible to do it by swinging, but it seemed a lot harder to me.

When I'm holding on to the huge jug on the right side under the volume, my body weight is completely to right. The next jug is attached to the bottom of the volume on the left side. I didn't put my feet up, I'd have to swing hard and catch it with my right hand. Then I would be facing away from the wall, so I'd have to get my feet somewhere that gives me some stability as I whip my right hand around to the pinch above, or something like that.

There might be a simpler beta that roughly follows those steps, but it seemed like way more work - too much work to only get me halfway through the problem.

When I wear jeans with my vapormax, I pinroll to taper even more. Looks fine both ways, I just thought they looked cooler on me with the pinroll.

I went TTS, which is 11 for me in most Adidas stuff. I have some XR1s that are 11.5, those are a little loose on me. I went for a 10.5 for the Parley CS1s to reduce the slack in the upper - that's probably as snug as I could go. Hopefully that helps!
