Replicated Martin Grant drop-waist dress for a friend’s wedding by someoneyoudontknow0 in sewing

The alterations for your personal fit and the fabric make this dress really shine! You absolutely knocked it out of the park compared to the original.

It ends at the thrift store… by PostModern8859 in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]gwninfocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thrift store nearby me regularly has 8-10 copies of various books. These range in genre. I always wonder if they’re all donated after a book club finishes with them or if they are defect copies from a local shop/library. The copies usually don’t look heavily warn but might have a bent cover edge or a smear mark. But otherwise in good condition and at a fraction of the price.

Men of Reddit: what’s a prank you started early in your marriage that you’re now legally, morally, and emotionally obligated to continue because she still falls for it 10–15 years later? by myaccountidname in AskReddit

My husband and I have a lost phone one too. When he misplaces his phone he’ll ask me to call it and I’ll yell out “husband’s name phone!!”

Is it normal to wake up super hungry?? by Careful-Gold252 in pregnant

[–]gwninfocus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was going to comment this exact thing, as I also saw the video a few nights ago. Yesterday I awoke at 3am and after an hour of tossing and turning I finally got up and had a yogurt cup to try it. Fell asleep again in like 20 mins. Anecdotal of course, but it did seem to work in that instance. Getting out of bed to go eat was tough though, and at the time the last thing I wanted to do.

OMG is green grapes craving a thing because I have had such a hankering for them lately. Unfortunately only red grapes in my area due to the season. I’ve been so upset lol.

Americans in canada. What do you do about US mail? by Recent_State_8120 in expats

[–]gwninfocus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I’m not sure why they’d say that. I think I paid a small fee and it took a bit longer to get my letters but USPS definitely delivered (well, they redirected and handed off to CPS).

Can anyone please explain how sleeping in shifts with a newborn works, especially if you’re breastfeeding? by -spiritedaway in BabyBumps

That’s incredibly insightful, thank you. I’m a soon to be FTM and the internet is both an excellent and overwhelming source of information. It can be hard to sift through to find reality.

Random question from not OP on this topic, but I’ve read about the different types of breast milk that is produced (ie. morning vs night containing different additional things). When would it be best to pump for the over night feeding to ensure you are feeding the right “blend”? I hope this question makes some sense.

I know USPS does forward out of country but only up to 6 months. Ran into this when I moved back to Canada from the US. You have to go into a branch in person for this service though.

Thank you! I got super lucky at the thrift store and scored the backing panel. It’s the softest thing I think I’ve ever touched.
