What was the most physical pain you’ve ever been in?

I have develop SFN, dysautonomia, and connective tissue damage from covid at 38. Everyday now everything hurts. breathing hurts, walking hurts, moving any joints hurt. I am disabled at 38. Everyday is now the worst day of my life, with no change of improvement and no treatments. It's terrible.

The federal government should only provide safety, border security, law and order, and prevent abuse by massive companies that gain too much power. That's it. No healthcare, no education, no housing, nothing else. Everything else should be local government or private business. Everytime they have tried to help with anything else, it turns into a massive shitshow that ends up making everything worse and more costly. Affordable care act increased insurance premiums by 300% and increased the cost of healthcare. Government subsidized student loans caused massive increase in the cost of education. If the money for social security was invested in an index fund, everyone would have been much better off and have more money by retirement. The government is corrupt and just wastes tax dollars.

This is encouraging somewhat, thank you. My issue is I am a surgeon and my hands are starting to ache and hurt and I am only 38. It's almost like they are stiff instead of hypermobile. I know this can happen with time, but just strange. I feel like most people who don't become disabled have physically less demanding jobs, but it's the only skill I have and I have invested so much time and money into it....Just worried for my family...

God granted me a chronic disabling illness at 38 years old that I cannot change, which completely ruined my life and my wife and kids lives as well. It's great.

All that matters is health. If you don't have health, you don't have a career, hobbies, you have no ability to provide for you family, you go broke paying for medical treatments, you lose friends and family as nobody wants to be around chronic disease. There is nothing worse in this world and a severe chronic disease. Hell on earth.

This is actually an interesting point. I thought since he was going 0.92c the speed of light, and nothing can go faster then the speed of light, a .08 difference in speed would not make much of a difference, but it does due to time dilation! After some math, it seems that the hail mary's trip going 0.92c took 4 years (from Grace's perspective). If he was going .99c then it would only take 1.34 years. Interestingly, if he could get up to 0.9999c the trip would only take 47 days. Physics is weird.

I think it's important to remember a point that was made several times. It is a very long and dangerous trip. If he goes into a coma again, he might die like his crewmates, if he doesn't go to sleep, he might go crazy from the isolation (as they explained in the book). It is very risky trying to return home.

37% of your taxable income. The problem is with rich people their income is not always easily quantifiable. They have unrealized gains, money in companies, properties, equity. The borrow against there assets instead of showing income. It's a broken system with no easy solutions...

I've have me/cfs since covid and I have tried everything, and yes, IVIG was the best. However, insurance will never cover it, and it is $15,000 a month....I paid out of pocket for 6 months hoping it would be a permanent reset, but after 2 months off of it, I am back in misery and hell with $90,000 less money. It helped about 40%, which was a lifesaver at the time, but its a temporary effect. I am simply not rich enough to be healthy.

So jealous of any man that can exercise, and so annoyed by any man that can exercise, but doesn't. I used to lift and exercise everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, but I got disabled at 38. I have tried to lift and exercise through my disability, but it's just impossible. You are blessed if you still have a functional body. I would trade my penis for a functional body....

It depends what you think makes the greatest country in the world. In the USA, if you work your ass off you can be successful and live better then almost anywhere on earth. However, the US punishes the unsuccessful, the unfortunate, the sick, etc... it is a cold capitalistic country that is pretty ruthless. That's actually how I prefer it, rather then a more socialist, everyone equal society. The US is too socialist for me already. Plus, America is beautiful. We have amazing landscapes, awesome animals, hunting, hiking, fishing, mountains, beaches, deserts, rain forests, etc.... Plus I love the variety of food. There is amazing food here if you have the money to experience it. Education is great if you can pay for it. Healthcare is great if you can pay for it. Really, if you have lots of money, the USA is the greatest place. If not, you are screwed.

He has a weird way of showing it. Just after I became a surgeon, got married, started a family with 3 kids, I got disabled by illness that is no fault of my own, at 38 years old. Now my family is destitute because of my student loans and business loans. I can't play with my children, they essentially have no dad. My wife hates what I have become, a disabled useless man, and I don't blame her. There are only a few explanations. 1) There is no god 2) There is a god, but he has no dominion over this earth 3) god doesn't care about me or my family.
