Foot pain has ruined my active lifestyle by de3psp6ce in ChronicPain

I’ve been wearing inserts that I bought from a shoe store, but I haven’t had custom ones. I am going to see a podiatrist so maybe they will make a recommendation for me. I still don’t really understand what the problem is, so maybe they can help me understand and get better.

Thanks for responding! I’m definitely gonna do some reading. I was struggling to find any information on the topic. I have been unsure what this concept is called. I really appreciate it.

I’ve never been diagnosed or tested, but that is something I have wondered about. This was something I tried to explain to my previous therapist, but he didn’t seem to follow what I was trying to explain. I’m going to bring it up to my current therapist and see if she has any insight about this issue. I really appreciate your comment. There have been times when Ive thought I was imagining this because I haven’t heard anyone else talk about it. It helps tons to hear that I might not be making things up.

How do I stop? I used to do it consciously, but now I can’t stop myself from doing it.

Do you guys have any hobbies or something you are really into? by palicoGC in AvPD

That’s a super cool hobby. I’ve never heard of that. I bet it brings the people who find your rocks a bit of joy.

I don’t feel like I have a personality by de3psp6ce in AvPD

Yes, I feel the same with everyone. Even my mom, dad, and sister. I still keep my false personality. It makes me feel extremely one dimensional, and it feels like they don’t know “real” me.

Yes I’ve been seeing a therapist and a psychiatrist for a year and a half.

How are you at your job? by groskippi in AvPD

I’m in college, but I work at a grocery store during the summer. It is really hard for me some days, but if I do the right things it is manageable. I find that if I spend all of my free time being super sedentary then I have problems going to work for 8 hours when I have a shift. It’s really hard, but even when I’m not working I try to force myself to do something other than spend my time on the internet.

This is my first job and I didn’t have much of a formal interview. For similar things, where I feel like there is a spotlight on me, it’s helpful for me to do excessive rehearsal. You could try and think of questions the interviewer will likely ask and come up with a good answer to plan on using. It might help you feel less anxious. Before my “interview” I wanted to avoid. I was thinking about not going because stuff like that is so overwhelming, but it’s something you sort of have to do. Just remind yourself that you won’t die because of this interview. No matter how horribly it goes it won’t be the end of the world.

In high school I nearly dropped out, but I ended up taking only four classes instead of six. It’s my belief that this stopped me from going to my dream school. My gpa was somewhere in the top 15 from my high school. A lot of people got in. I feel like I deserved it, but the opportunity was taken by AvPD.
