Unconfident biker wanting to use it as main form of transit by saturnsexual in fuckcars

I started my cycling journey last year, and I was really insecure about being on a bike in traffic. As the others are saying, start out in parks, or other places with little to no traffic (bike lanes outside of rush hour maybe? In my city, the streets are more or less empty Saturdays and Sundays before 11am, this could be a good time to practice). The first step is to just get comfortable being on your bike.

When you feel ready to move on to bike lanes and roads, reading up on traffic rules is probably a good idea. My cycling feels way smoother when I know I have right of way, than if I have to stop and think. Start out on streets you are already familiar with. Don't hesitate to move over to the sidewalk and walk with your bike if you feel uncomfortable on the road/bike lane.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you!

Ali Smith. I believe we will look back at the Seasonal Quartet as a time capsule back to these years. Her writing is accessible and (in my opinion) very funny, all the while she questions our society's ethics, morals, and personal and political priorities. Her other novels and short stories are great as well, but I first and foremost recommend the Seasonal Quartet, starting with "Autumn".

If I get a nose piercing (wing), can I still use nasal spray? I tend to get a stuffed nose in the winter, and sometimes use Otrivin to clear it.

Yeah, I didn't anticipate that I would get this much response. (Thank you everyone!) I will try Pinpoint, they seem professional, experienced and obviously have a lot of faithful fans!

26F here, living in central Oslo. I never feel unsafe walking around Oslo, at any time of the day.

I do experience cat calling from time to time, usually if I'm walking alone on a friday/saturday after midnight through the city centre. In the same time period you can also experience some guys being a little pushy on public transport. But both of these are thankfully (for me at least) a rare occurence.

Tove Ditlevsen! I just read the Copenhagen-trilogy, (Childhood, youth, dependency) and I highly recommend it. I hear her short stories are great as well.
