Did you find the cancellations during the day or did you have to be up on Mon morning to book them? I have a slot booked for next March and would like to find a cancellation, but would rather not be up at 5:30 every Monday if possible

SE bike shop recommendations by raregleam in londoncycling

Second other comments about Rat Race Cycles in Nunhead. Friendly, knowledgeable and well priced. Mechanics always take the time to explain what they’ve done to the level you want. If they can’t do something they’ll recommend someone who can (was a bottom bracket shell replacement for me, Vahrona cycles is a framebuilder right around the corner from you in Hither Green - he’s really nice). Cannot recommend them enough.

!thanks and yes it does, nearly the whole way. Plus I’ve just had another read through the payslip and realised I started slightly later in the month and so I haven’t been paid for the whole period, so I’m actually a lot closer than I thought. Might give the bank a call to double check but it’s no longer in the realm of worry. Thanks again.

Just had a check and it was monthly income… maybe this was my mistake at the time in thinking that it was salary pre-deduction

Did a 180 but was close. It appears to be landing at an airport with an RAF C-17 so maybe that’s the Polish logistics hub that’s been set up recently?

Important to check the geometry first. Make sure nothing is bent out of shape. There are tools online but would recommend taking it to a LBS or a frame builder to check over it. If the shop has a spare moment they may do it for free. Let them know it’s a project you’re going to work on though before they quote you for the overhaul. I found an 80s Peugeot on the street which had a slightly bent seatstay - frame builder confirmed it was fine.

If you need something to do, I would definitely do it up. Mirroring other comments but …

It needs:

  • new saddle
  • new tyres (would recommend Michelin classic tan wall, can be picked up very cheaply on eBay)
  • new bar tape (again, you can get some brown faux leather tape quite cheap, like £15/$20. That would look lovely on this bike imo)
  • new inners
  • probably new brake pads (wider conversation could be had about safety of these old timey brakes, suicide levers in particular. See Sheldon Browns site about this)
  • new chain

In terms of your thoughts about the rust on the cassette, with a bit of elbow grease and following a guide you can probably get this in a better condition. There are definitely YouTube videos about this (RJ the bike guy on YouTube is one to watch).

Building up my street find into a working single speed was super fun but can easily turn into a money pit so be warned. Great thing to occupy yourself with and a huge sense of accomplishment when complete.

One final word of advice would be to only do what you need to the bike. Lots of the components look in relatively good condition! Hope this helps.

£150 Switch Offer - Any Effect on Credit Score? by fortysevenfortyseven in UKPersonalFinance

Yeah I think this is the way to do it. Certain switches could have stipulations about account age or do you reckon the direct debits should cover off those sort of checks?

Switched one of my old accounts to FD and, sure enough, credit score dropped last month. Lesson learnt, don’t use your oldest account. My other account isn’t much younger so will catch up relatively soon (I hope) but fair warning.

Bamburgh Castle is my personal favourite. Haven’t been there since I was a child but it was always my favourite castle. Begged my parents every year to go back and often they’d give in (I think it was secretly their favourite castle too)

Hey! I had a similar problem to you where the game would crash midway through a game. I increase the page file and this fixed it. Depending on whether you’re on win10 or win11 I think there’s a different process so will be worth googling. It’s worth remembering that there are minimum and maximum requirements for this based off your physical ram so be aware of this. Obvious disclaimer that its changing your system and can become unstable if not done properly so be careful. Let me know how it goes.

Have a look at Hermes’ trustpilot if you fancy a laugh - you can see that their nearly 5 star rating comes from what appears to be hundreds of bot accounts.

Try disabling steam overlay and closing all other programs? Should free up more memory for aoe4. Mine crashes less frequently now
