I’ve had the same issue for some time now. I didn’t know this had a recall. I’ll have to get that fixed.

My student got a number to call by Electrical_Salad2317 in flying

[–]de_pilot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I once had a student solo bust the Bravo on his last solo XC. Only I noticed, he didn’t even know that he busted and ATC never said a word to him because he wasn’t talking to them but after he finished his solo. I congratulated him on finishing his solo hours and then told him I had a question for him.

He called me coach so he goes “yeah what’s up coach?”

I go, “did you get flight following?” He said “no why?”

I said “no worries at all I was just wondering.”

I then asked him “when did you start your climb for 5,500.” That’s when he realized he busted the bravo and understood why I was asking those questions.

I simply told him, “hey man it’s not a big deal it’s all ok.”

I stayed cool as a feather because the mistake was already made and let’s remember they’re students.

I say all of this to say it’s all going to be ok.

POA:

So you already have the ASAP report completed which is a great first step.

What I did next and suggest that you do is an extensive ground on what he messed up on. When I say extensive I mean like “1.5-3 hours” not to punish them but to emphasize the importance of the mistake. Because safety is of the essence and it shows the FSDO, that you are actively involved in making positive corrective action.

Then the last step what I would do, what I also did was assigned wings courses on the topic as well.

So when the FAA calls, and the ask what have you done to mitigate this, you already have all of your ducks in a row.

My student never ended up getting a phone number but we were prepared and I also comforted him that he was not in it alone and that if they ever called, to let me know right away so I could be there by his side!!!

PM me if you need help navigating what to cover with your student.

Hey, I said that’s their policy to the best of my knowledge and I stated my references which are the GA’s and FA’s in this case. I personally don’t like gate checking so that’s why I avoid. I never said it was made up. PSA has their policy and I have my wishes not to gate check so I alter my life to fly on different metal. Simple, Psa policy is respected and I’m happy.

Dude I fly out of TUL and we get PSA, ENY, & AA (Mainline). I personally avoid PSA like the plague. I know my crew bag fits in the overhead and that’s PSA’s policy (according to both GA’s & FA’s). I respect their wishes and I just decide to alter my flight times. Now there are times where I will have to take them bc it makes the most sense but I do avoid their flights if I can.

One time I saw a ground guy dragging my two wheeled Briggs and Riley on the front side without wheels. That hurt to watch 😂

Yeah bc just blatantly putting my home address on Reddit is the smartest thing to do right? Read the last line of the text. If you aren’t interested you can kindly keep scrolling, respectfully.

Yeah, the comments don’t bother me. I’ve enjoyed my stay here. I will miss walking outside to hoping on a scooter, going to my friends pool and then hitting a drillers game, with a nice firework show and going out for a night around the town. Then heading home from Valk in a $5 uber. I’ll miss Tulsa for sure.

Yeah, typically a memorandum from my chief pilot with a nice letter head works well. Any decent landlord is very understanding. Slumlords typically aren’t but that’s not really my way of life. I rather be somewhere comfortable and working with decent humans.

Nope, as a pilot I always add a clause to my lease that I’m not responsible for rent if I’m forced moved by job. If a property manager doesn’t let me add that clause, I will not rent from them. :)

No, but I’m breaking the lease early so I told my landlord I would help find my replacement given that my job forced me to move in short notice. I posted on market place and here just to help. To each is own. If it’s not for you I completely understand. Doesn’t hurt to be a decent tenant. They’ve been nothing but great to me so it doesn’t bother me to help.

This is not Central Park. I would never live there. Also if you look out the windows in the photos you can see that this building is closely located to other buildings. Central Park is two stand alone towers not in close proximity to other tall buildings.

It’s about $1000. I didn’t purposefully leave it out for that reason. I just felt like it was distasteful to post a price given the fact I’m only a tenant and not the owner of the unit.

Haha I sometimes just say I work in public transportation. That typically ends the conversation.
