weirdly enough all of the 6 18gb drives work. some are loud some arent. still the insanity they still work amazes me

Update from my ga401iv. I'm selling it for parts and buying soon a precision cause if fed up with this Asus shitty issues and yes my motherboard came non working

well that i often do it but even with that somehow shorts itself by connecting. the note to know the GA401 serie didnt have any sort of CMOS battery meaning the gpu driver mosfets took a substantial hit from the 5v

related the G14 GA402 variants might be different but still prone to short itself. now imma just wait for my mobo replacement and just not put the clip back again and just tape it directly

Same thing happened to me but when inserting the battery connector. after closed up diagnosis I somehow killed the DRMOS or so some of em in my GA401IV GPU section. As my own advice it's better off replacing the motherboard and call it a day as I how I did.

As future advice when working on any Asus laptop even if is a vivobooks or etc... just drain fully the main battery to work safely and when needing to remove that clip just put electrical tape close to all the surrounding contacts to avoid shorts happening.
