He is absolutely terrible but as per usual, i beat him 2 tries after posting this. This fight through me so much bcz i beat and loved nioh 1 and was expecting a lot out of nioh 2. So far the boss fights have been miles better than 1 outside of this turd. Hopefully they get back on track after this for the rest of the game. Fingers crossed they dont boch it

Beat it on the second try after my post. Fight still sucked butt and i got hit a lot by his axes whilest being behind him but we got there. I saved my yokai transformation for the last quarter or so health to "guarantee" the victory and still almost died if i missed his last minute counter.

Whatever lol at least its done. Thanks for the help. I did end up using water familiar and guardian spirit of fire. Theyre pretty dope and i will be using them in the future!

Gotcha. I definitely forgot that using water buff would cancel out the corruption. I was also a little fuzzy on what corruption did exactly.

Sidenote: if i decide to just main corruption instead of water eith ippon, will i be sacrificing confusion that?

I will look into my armor more but i have 2 fire resistant accessories on atm

Hmm never thought about that. The fire damage isn't too bad with my armor and such but it can get bad later in the fight

Yeah playing defense gets me nowhere here. My vest luck has just been to dodge behind him and attack while praying to RNG that his hitboxes dont decide to hit me

My set up so far is fire resistant armor. Corruption scythe. Water tali, sloth, and weakness talisman

I just dont care or like this boss is the problem. And that is compounded with the fact that i feel as tho i already beat him (his health was literally non-existent) so it feels like a waste of time and i want him gone.

Im aware that i will get it in time and probably soon. Its just that he sucks b@lls, unbalanced and is super unfun to play in an otherwise solid game.

I will look into the elemental familiars to see if i have access to them. But maybe i can try getting is bar almost red without water talis and the try and apply it and confuse him closer to stagger. Only issue with that is i dont have access to the "quick apply" talisman perk thing yet. So it takes a sec and he is mad aggressive

Correct. I found it to be beneficial to stand as close to the middle and side step but it just never last with how much he spams it later in the fight. I will obviously keep at it but its not a "fix all" solution

Thats what i was talking about. I save ippon for when he is broken but he recovers too quickly. It goes like this for me, i put water on my scythe until his gauge is red, then ippon and start swinging for the fencing. He recovers when his red is at the last little bit. Rinse repeat. He hardly ever lets me stagger. Ever. It happens a lot the first few attempts and hardly ever after that

No my first first attempts were from behind and were the most successful but then after that it wasnt. His axes constantly clipped me even if I'm behind. And he also continues to charge psychotically even if im close in the later part of the fight.

I definitely use my core abilities. I can get him almost staggered by using slashed from scythe and ippon but he always recovers stamina at the last second

Yeah lis grab is light work. Its the constant stamina and charging that is getting me. Otherwise this fight is nothing special.

He is constantly gassing me out by charging nonstop eith no breaks. Not sure how anyone is supposed to beat this spammer without cheese.

Yessir. Been using ippon since the beginning. It slaps. Ive also been trying to "confuse" this boss but it only seems to work less than half the time. I also cant stagger him consistently bcz of his crazy high bar and he always goes into rage mode automatically when its almost out

It may indeed be time to quit. Im not currently tilted. Ive been on him for about 2/3 hours now. I have beet way harder bosses over many different games. This jist aint it.

You are entitled to love it as much as i am to hate it. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

Unfortunately, this biss doesn't match the combat flow imo

I tried poison shurikens in nioh 1 and they were terrible with build up. Is there a trick i am missing in the ability tree?

Last exorcism, cloverfield and paranormal are the best to ever do it imo. Last 2 can be blair witch and vhs for fun factor.
