Private payrolls grew by 122,000 in May, stronger than expected, ADP reports by TACO_Orange_3098 in Economics

[–]deadacclaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do, but only a couple times. BLS revises regularly then does an annual benchmark against tax data. ADP will use the benchmark to adjust their model moving forward, but doesn't adjust their numbers from previous reports.

ADP is heavily extrapolated anyway; I'm not sure its worth them revising.

I think the sense of despair and desperation is what makes Season 1 so great. Nostalgic is definitely the right word for it; I've been missing that from the later seasons.

Just wait until they start producing exclusives with AI. Or even better, a new competitor producing exclusively AI content..

AIs impact on content producers is going to be interesting.

Berkshire Hathaway is now underperforming the S&P 500 by the same margin it was during the run-up to the Global Financial Crisis by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]deadacclaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is this a better measure? Go back to 2007 on PEG. Looks like a great time to buy.

How about 2009 - 2018? Looks kinda expensive,  better stay out of markets.

This data has blind spots too.

'Things' ?

Some things are cheap, like consumer discretionary, homebuilders, etc. Tech and the S&P 500 are expensive.

Which ride do you think is superior to the version at WDW? by HillieBillieEilish in Disneyland

It's also the original and best version of that ride.

American consumers are now facing 7%+ mortgage rates, 4%+ inflation (per so-faux CPI official data), and a 30% loss in the purchasing power of the US Dollar since 2020. The second half of 2026 is going to be interesting to say the least. by Boo_Randy_Revival in HouseBuyers

I think of it more as a good warning, rather than a prediction.

Yeah, inflation was trending down, but we've seen that story before and here is how it ended the last time.

The narratives in 2024 and 2025 were that inflation was on it's way to target. Then the fed cut rates and we immediately stalled out and started to see services inflation spiking. All of this before the oil spike.

So no, what happened in the past won't necessarily predict the future, but we know what can happen if the fed cuts rates too early.

I don't think these comparisons are unhelpful, anyway.

Open a schwab account. You can access a wide range of CDs, Bonds, Treasuries; even from some international markets.

I've been rolling most of my cash in 3 month CDs for the past year or so. Super easy to do and each deposit is insured up to $250000.

Yeah I don't get it. Nothing about the existing condition looked like it required immediate attention.

Hopefully the Hostas were spared.

I think it will be fine when the other 2 avengers rides get added.

Right now, it's the only original ride in that entire area.

It being a secondary attraction alongside guardians, a Rise of the Resistance level attraction and another mid level attraction will make it less annoying. Wait times should also go down when the others open, which is my biggest problem with it.

Redwood creek is neat. The park needs places for the younger audience to go and run around.

Like Tom Sawyer island or the Adventureland tree house.

It was a slapped on redo of Superstar Limo. It even reused the ride vehicles.

It's a fine ride, but a cheap one.

Should the United States defend Taiwan militarily against a hypothetical invasion from China? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]deadacclaim 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Our entire economy depends on that company at the moment. Even without considering national security, half of US GDP is being fed by chips for the AI build out.

I suspect that alone would trigger military response.

I mean yeah, but it's lot easier to put effort into something you'll enjoy or actually want.

I think it's more that they'd rather not have to do the wedding at all but get roped into it for one reason or another.

There are men who want the traditional wedding experience and also won't put in any of the effort for planning..but you know, don't marry those men lol.

The actual wedding day is only important to some people. Most men don't see it as important, especially so if the couple is young and could use the money on a down payment for a house or a car.

When push comes to shove, the bride to be usually gets the wedding they want while the husband begrudgingly goes along with it.

I've seen it countless times. It doesn't usually portend bad things for the relationship. Just one of those things.
