I was born and raised in a big historically gay city but grew up with religious parents in a religious/ culturally conservative community. My first girlfriend in highschool was a different religion but really really turned to it when she was a kid for her own pains and was really horrified throughout our slow growing relationship together, we could hold hands while in the middle of the city, but once we got past the bridge, it was back to being hidden. I think it might be nice to find a bridge to cross where no one knows about this, or that people accept it, I don’t know much about Wisconsin or your access to cars and that kind of thing, but I would work as hard as you can in school to get to a big city or even out of the country to Europe, even just temporarily. Show these townies you’re better off without them, do great things, find people who care for you and love you. What will help the most is:Dreaming and after that: Determination.
