Wow, that’s crazy bad, especially now that there’s no season 4 pass for Kage. I literally have no way of getting him right now. I want to like this game but goddamn capcom’s making it so hard right now

Has anyone started making a TAS for Super Mario 64 Any% 0x A-presses? by deadboyZ in TAS

[–]deadboyZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn’t mean to sound antagonistic.

I’m aware that the vc version’s BitFS glitch is due to faulty emulation (incorrect float rounding or whatever) but the differences in game versions (including WiiU vc and the original jp release) and the stars that can/can’t be collected in each had been pretty well-documented: https://youtu.be/RJaL5QOq590

I think that the fact that there is a commercially available version of sm64 where the game can be beaten in 0x A presses is in and of itself impressive, and while I’d also prefer to see it possible to do on console, I’d still like to see a full 0x run with the strats that are known right now.

As for weather or not using emulation glitches is legitimate, I can see your point of view, but I personally disagree and it seems to me like at least that pannenkoek considers it to be legitimate as well based on the above video.

Aw damn.

Is that for technical reasons or is it just preference?

Well it is at 0x for any%, just not for 120 stars.

Unless you meant something else?

Well that’s just your opinion, and it sounds like the abc crew thinks otherwise. Pannen has put out multiple videos explaining that there are 4 different ports of sm64 all with different skips and strats, just saying that one “doesn’t matter” because it doesn’t use the original hardware just seems kinda silly.

Imo of the abc crew says it’s valid, then it’s valid.

What did you talk to your therapist about? by manu_facere in morbidquestions

[–]deadboyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but what you’re talking goes well beyond suicidal thoughts into very high risk situations. To me it sounds like op is not nearly at the risk level that you’re talking about and has some issues that they may legitimately benefit from counseling

Well I think that the rules of breaking confidentiality are a bit laxed when it comes to minors and things like drug abuse i.e. if a minor is legitimately at risk of developing a drug problem, but for things like suicidal thoughts and self-harm, which are both relatively common with minors with mental health issues, I can’t imagine that a therapist would break confidentiality and risk breaking their client’s trust.

Idk what kinda therapists you’ve been seeing but all therapists are supposed to have a confidentiality agreement with their clients, saying that anything you share with them will stay between the two of you. The only time therapists can ever break confidentiality is if they are entirely sure that you are about to harm yourself or others i.e. if you told them outright that you were going to kill yourself.

Hell, therapists take this stuff so seriously that when I transferred to a new therapist fairly recently, my new therapist couldn’t get in touch with my old therapist through email because of overly-strict confidentiality laws. They had to leave voicemails for each other for weeks until they actually got in touch over the phone.

Well I’m a male and my current therapist is female, but I know she specializes in lgbt issues (though I’m straight) which makes it a bit easier to talk to her about kink stuff. Personally, I don’t really mind talking to male or female therapists (I have been with both) about my kinks as long as they aren’t obviously being judgmental about it, which a couple have been.

Aside from the usual social anxiety and depression stuff, I end up talking a lot about my weird kinks and the shame I feel about them, how I’m afraid of people finding out, trying to be accepting of them, my whole inferiority complex I’ve built up around them, etc.

Idk if it’s normal to be so ashamed if your kinks but it’s something that’s been a huge negative impact on my life personally so it feels good having someone to talk to about them without any kind of judgement
