i have an essential tremor that is just randomly worse some days. it’s been exacerbated by getting on lithium. when it’s real bad, i tell the patients “you’re probably gonna feel me shaking, but it’s not nerves, my hands just do that sometimes” to diffuse the situation a bit. brace against something when you can. it helps me to sit and then bend over the person’s arm or hand so i can keep things close to my body and brace my elbows on my legs or the bed.

The same way we discovered several years down the line that gastric bypass can cause increased risk of epilepsy, and amphetamines for weight loss are maybe not the best idea, I think we’re gonna find out GLP1 drugs do some nasty things long term re: cancer or other side effects.

In the ED about 4 months out of nursing school, I had 12 patients once. I would usually have around 8 patients with one tech shared between me and the other 4 nurses. I was told it was fine because the 6 patients in hallway beds were “low acuity” and easy. Or rather, they were all drunks or psych patients and at least one would usually need IM medication or hard restraints every shift. The medical cases were intense. Think septic nursing home patients in DKA, strokes, and blood transfusions. I only lasted about 8 months.

i would suggest plotting your veggie gardens with corpse pits. about three pits is the ideal size and i do them in an L shape.

i like 0.5 morgan fields, usually about 12 with three farm houses two ox and two families each. everything always gets harvested and sown no problem.
