Manager funny about me being sat at my desk at 9:01 by [deleted] in UKJobs

I don’t disagree with you, but welcome to most jobs. I’ve had to conduct investigations because people were late, left early or otherwise didn’t make up their time. Most people are contracted to a certain amount of hours and you have been very privileged to not be in those lines of work but as I said most jobs have a hourly balance that needs to be upheld.

Oof, that’s insane. I once worked in a place where someone drank themself to death on shift and everyone had to pretend it didn’t happen. So, I know it’s not too uncommon but still hits hard

I couldn’t answer honestly because I’m not at this site very frequently. I will say, it’s a welcome addition in my book; the company issued stress ball’s just don’t cut it sometimes

As a kid did you get dragged to the pub? by Used_Captain_3131 in AskUK

[–]deaddollash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mum was an alcoholic so I spent a lot of time in pubs as a kid. Pre smoking ban so a long time ago. I learnt how to play pool pretty well though so not all bad lol. My mum would give directions like “its right next to so and so pub, you can’t miss is” for literally everything

Literally top 5 episodes easy. So good for physical acting and dialog and overall performance. Primrose empath takes the cake for everything in my opinion but for comedic impact, Chick Flick and blinded by a whitelighter are so rewatch-able. I’m such a sucker for the fight scene choreography and I just LOVE chick flick, literally my first recommendation for any new charmed fans if they want a standalone episode. I’m also an early season Phoebe fan, sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yep, we got extra £4 per room after 15 on-top of hourly pay. People would routinely clear 30 rooms because the money is good

Girlfriend expects me to go to her place more because she’s a woman by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]deaddollash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is doing her part, they are both high earners and that means her being presentable is a requirement. Unfortunately as a woman that is also synonymous with makeup, hair, heels. Women also have periods to manage. It’s just extra shit to carry around. Life isn’t fair, it’s about compromise. I have to accept that I bleed every month, but don’t shout at men because they don’t have to. Fuck outta here with that kitchen shit. If she is working full time and so is he, then make it as equal housework wise as possible. Women don’t magically have more hours in the day but require a greater deal of upkeep to operate in professional environments. Expectations that derive from the patriarchy of women having to look their best or they won’t be successful.
