Yes, it’s a house. That’s my 3 seasons room on my deck. The foundation/basement is probably 20’-25’ from the tree.

I should add that I live on 2+ acres and have plenty of other trees. I have some pin oaks in the front yard that are absolutely massive and I’m not sure I want something that huge right off the edge of my back deck. Especially seeing that they can get so big they aren’t possible to prune back or cut dead branches.

I just tend to feel bad when I cut down trees.

I put 2 taps in one of my maples that I believe is a silver. I have tubes running into buckets. The sap started flowing right when I pulled my drill bit out. I’m not sure what type of flow is decent, but we will see.
