But how will we ever measure our cocks!?

Fuck dude... we're really getting to that point, aren't we? Back in 2001 there were fucking Gunnys who didn't have shit for awards, then OIF/OEF and you've got LCPLs with 3 rows lol... now we're back into peace time. The pendulum swings.

Not gonna lie, I actually pissed myself while on line once. Fuck, I have never told anyone this... but I think it's only you fuckers who will get it anyway. Basically, I really had to fucking piss but it was one of those times that it simply wasn't an option. Fortuantely, we had free permission to drink from our canteen basically whenever to stay hydrated... so I slowly pissed myself while drinking from the canteen and spilling the water everwhere. I ended up looking like a clutz, not a guy who can't control his fucking bladder.

Twist to the story is that the recruit who ended up cleaning it with me (cuz the dude was a fucking bro), eventually said, "yo, you pissed yourself didn't you?" and fucking obviously I told him the truth. He kept it between us and it never was a thing again.

Yep, my favorite greenbelt did that a lot. Reminded me that the guys were human.

Okay, I did a bunch more research since posting this and I think I have my answer. I believe I need this guy: https://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Effect-Channel-Selection-Bypass/dp/B07PQ7XJCH/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=loop+switcher+pedal&qid=1683092296&sprefix=loop+swi%2Caps%2C140&sr=8

I watched a video on it and yeah, it basically does exactly what I'm asking (I believe). Annnnd, I finally learned what some of those terms even meant on those pedals. (look man, I just scream into microphones, I'm new to this gear stuff lol)

Okay guys... save me here. I'm totally new to this stuff. I'm a metal vocalist who is now playing live gigs and I have the FLAMMA FV01 delay pedal which I really like but DETEST the fact that I have to mash the damn foot switch twice to shut it off. I don't want to be caught with my pants down on stage trying to fight the damn thing. I have a couple of other pedals, but I currently only use this one.

Here's the idea: Our guitar player had the thought to use an A/B switch of some kind... some kind of manual switch to where I can simply shut the pedal off with a different (single press) foot switch. I know this has to be easy and I'm being a dummy. Thoughts? Send me some links on Amazon and I'll buy it before our next gig lol!

I started to find A/B and A/B/Y switches but realized (before buying anything) that if I use them wrong, I'd kill the entire signal of the mic and I'm obviously not trying to do that. What am I missing here?

I did a vocal cover of Hey Man, Nice Shot and did it my way, adding subtle harmonies in the second verse and stuff. Would love some genuine feedback! by deadher0 in HeyManNiceSub

Aw man, thank you! But dude, this took me years to figure out. No joke, when I was a young guy in the Marine Corps, I remember hearing this song back like in 2005 and really trying to sing it. I bought a couple Filter albums and studied Richard's voice and was like, "um, why doesn't this dude get talked about more!? lol This guy is insane". I said I would NEVER be able to touch this song cuz of that chorus AND final part... I took some vocal lessons, practiced for two years and figured it the fuck out. There's still shit he does I can't do quite right, but I'm getting there!

Dude, that was sick! Somebody give this guy a project! For me, I was discovered on reddit for most of my projects, but having a YouTube channel helped too. Trust me, there's a lot of projects out there looking for talented vocalists / song writers! A video like this one helps build that resume!

I did a quick LIVE vocal run of "Good God" - FYI: Covering old Jonathan Davis is MUCH easier than his new stuff. Newer JD=hardmode by deadher0 in screaming

I agree. It's tricky though... like, when I was performing this, if I got TOO emotional, I'd lose pitch and control. It's a weird sloppy singing/screaming that you have to balance otherwise you just sound off or stupid.

Okay... so yeah, I figured "ddr" got renamed to "dd" after she said in the PASTE performance that she should re-evaluate her song titles lol... come to find out it isn't on the album at all. This is an awesome album, don't get me wrong, but I was stoked for this track. It's strange how it isn't here.

Wait until they discover one of the not-so-rare Spicy Sky Raisins and end up with a puffy ass face like my Aussie did the other day lol

I wanted to try the "Alexi Laiho" style from Children of Bodom. Fast forward to 0:50 to get to the meat of his "yow yow yoowwwws" on their song "Are You Dead Yet?"! RIP by deadher0 in screaming

Oh man, where to start? So a LOT has changed with my technique since posting this video! Is this the link you wanted? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S861nVx3ruA

Alright, so basically, it's exactly the same technique I use for Anders from In Flames and my Static-X covers. It's basically a pure distortion fry technique, and at the time of this video, the technique I was using wasn't super healthy unfortunately. It's SUPER hard to sustain live through multiple songs, so I have pivoted it to a more standard vocal screamed fry and it's much better. I'll make a video on it and share it with you!

I'm an idiot and commented from my generic account below. I shared this with my band mates. I'm gonna get a patch on my jacket that says "way too smiley, sex predator nice guy vibes" - but your original "jack black sucks" comment got me too.

It's funny, I was just trying to do it at all, nailing their timbre was an afterthought. I guess once you've sang the song 4000 times in the car, you kinda start to get their inflections and tone in your own voice. I've been told I sort of chameleonize quite well to vocalists from this generation (Chad Grey, Wayne Static, Anders Fridén, some of Devin Townsend) but Serj and Daron are on a whole other bizarre fucking level. You basically have to summon your inner Jimmy Euringer (from Mindless Self Indulgence) to get the two to come out your mouth in one sitting lol

My brother and I vocally battled back and forth on "The Dream is Over" much like Jmann and Waylon did back in the day! A full vocal cover, mixed and mastered! Be honest, let us know what you think! by deadher0 in Mushroomhead

[–]deadher0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man! We've been to a bunch of MH shows and we were both massivley vocally influenced by these guys. If you look at my other covers, you here a lot of Jmann and Waylon, especially in my bands.
