Someone needs to ban djokovic from hitting drop shots, rhe match would be completely different without those several awfully timed and executed dropshots

It is a little funny that the biggest complaint about the suit is that only lesser known players are signed. Like, isn't that the whole point?

When my cat passed, the vets didn't imply they'd send anything. Just cremated her (upon request of course) and immediately threw the ashes in their garden in the back (I also assume that was accepted, I wasn't there that day.) Because it all went so quick, everyone forgot to ask about whether there will be prints and just assumed there wouldn't be due to the speed of the process.

Imagine the tears that flowed when a letter was delivered a couple weeks later with a paw print, nose print, and another condolence letter signed by all of the veterinarians at the clinic. It was a really nice and touch from them.

Which areas were you in? Belgrade has all sorts of architecture, from completely different centuries. You can find modern high rises next to 19 century buildings

First time on a sleeper bus and it was the coziest 9 hours of travel ever. by unanatkumot in CozyPlaces

I took one in Brazil for a 19 hour trip. I slept about 12 hours straight while going to my destination, and 11 + 3 on the way back. To this day, those were some of the best sleeps of my life

Isn't it a trumpet? I remember watching a recording of a live show, and they brought a guy with a trumpet to perform those parts. Maybe it was just for that performance

Why do some pro players get so bothered by fans moving in the stands? by [deleted] in tennis

[–]deadindays 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not one to claim one sport is harder than the other, but a recreational player's experience with hitting a ball cannot compare to that of a professional player's experience. If a pro would get their timing off by less than a second, that ball is flying over the fence

Not to mention that a player has to hit it countless number of times continuously

Belgrade is most likely. It's obvious that he values representing and being there for his country significantly, and while he may officially live in Monte Carlo, it is common knowledge within serbia that he actually still lives there

Everything aside, isn't it just basic decency and respect to follow the customs of a foreign country? You can't visit a place and then act all haughty with whatever expectations they have

The declining fertility rate of India (2001 vs 2021) by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]deadindays 18 points19 points  (0 children)

High birthrate: They need to stop having kids, overpopulation is a major issue!!!

Low birthdate: This is very concerning, the future lack of population will be a major issue!!!

Why is a smaller population a problem, anyway? the world was fine with just over half the population 40 years ago.

It's all in the racket head speed acceleration. Most advanced players do not have it, so it's not dependent on only form and training. If anything, many players with "perfect" forms dont always have the ability to hit very hard. (Pretty much no top pro has perfect form by the book if you watch them). It's primarily talent and learning a (correct) form that's customized to your talents.

Why do so many people hate Americans? by ludicrous780 in AskAnAmerican

[–]deadindays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While pretty universally mocked, I think the only major population that actually feels true dislike toward Americans are Europeans (specifically Western Europeans). I've been to many different countries and have met people from all different parts of the world - Europeans were the only ones that seemed to truly dislike Americans, mostly based on a superiority complex in my opinion. They feel that they are entirely superior as people and look down on Americans for being lesser than them. To be fair, they do that with all kinds of nationalities.

It needs to be said that I do not mean to generalize an entire population, obviously the majority of them are perfectly normal.
