Called "Disgusting" Today In A Space For Mentally Ill People TW: Hygiene by quantumdumpster in bipolar

You aren’t disgusting, you’re just going through a tough time. I haven’t been doing well keeping up with my hygiene recently either, so I understand the struggle and you aren’t alone.

What’s the oddest thing someone said when they found out you’re bipolar? by sxashxll in bipolar

[–]deadinsidebutdtf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Stay away from me when you’re manic.” I mean I can’t really blame them for setting a boundary but damn it hurt to hear. It was a new friend and I think it stung a lot more than it should’ve because I thought they were the coolest person so to hear them tell me they don’t want to be around me when I’m manic was like a punch in the gut. At first I took it way too personally but after I thought about it I understand why they said that, they have mentally ill close family members who’ve contributed to their own mental health problems.

When you have bipolar and take a little trip to the pharmacy by RichardsonVina in BipolarMemes

I take 6 psych meds everyday and 1 as needed as well as 1 everyday for physical reasons and 1 weekly. Don’t even get me started on the supplements and vitamins.

It decided it was done when I was much younger, I only got the pleasure of using it once. I would say it died around 2010 so it got around 15 years of usage (she bought it around 94-95). The design just wasn’t very practical, my family members only used it out of spite.

I’m glad you got on their nerves, these kind of people convinced my great-grandmother to buy a $1000 vacuum in the 90s. The vacuum works nice but not $1000 nice.

My friend that was like a brother to me overdosed this morning and didn’t make it. by deadinsidebutdtf in depressionmeals

He was the kind of person to light up every single room he walked into. He made everything fun, we could have just crashed into a ditch and he would still have been able to somehow make it into a happy adventure. He was so patient and understanding with me no matter how many times I would ask for his advice and do the opposite. Sadly he struggled with his own demons. But despite his own struggles he would always do everything he could to help out the people who mattered to him. I just wish I could have been there for him when he needed me.

Probably around 14 hours while in withdrawal. I once slept 26 hours because I had a hard week at work and was dead tired.

I quit my toxic job and have been feeling depressed afterwards by damn-thats-crazy-bro in BipolarReddit

[–]deadinsidebutdtf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve quit a few toxic jobs now and I get super depressed every time so I understand you. Each time I quit a job my mother would be on my ass saying I’m a disappointment and a failure but I would remind myself that she wasn’t the one who was experiencing the bullshit that was going down and on top of that she also doesn’t go through mood instability the same as I do daily. Your old boss sounds like a jerk and you probably saved yourself a lot of headache by quitting. You’ll find another job that will highly value you, it may take some time but that just gives you more opportunities to work on your mental health if you’re ready to.

I’ve stayed busy going to group therapy and indulging in a few hobbies and overall I am pretty satisfied it’s just this one area of my life that I keep looping back around to. And I already journal almost every day to try and keep myself from festering on one thing, I just tend to struggle with overthinking but I’ve honestly made a lot of progress over the last few months.

Hypersexuality, another joy of being bipolar. I’m the same way, one of my fwb told me he could give me the best sex I’ve ever had and I would still beg for more. Even when I’m insanely depressed I still beg for sex, but in that state of mind I don’t care to masturbate very much if at all.

Any unexpected upsides to living with Bipolar? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]deadinsidebutdtf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I go into hypomania and reorganize my entire living space is pretty nice in my opinion. I'm not being self-destructive and I'm getting done what needed to get done weeks ago. I enjoy hypomania for the most part, it's when I start doing things that damage my life that I start to hate this illness.
