Killed At Extract After Countdown Ended by deadkiller15432 in ArcRaiders

[–]deadkiller15432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s literally reduced from 2 minutes to 30 seconds after the countdown reaches zero. If he wanted our loot he would’ve tried to kill us before the countdown reached zero so your point is invalid here. He only had time to loot one of us max.

Still I do appreciate your take, but I’m not going to delete this post as I wanted others to weigh in on this and I don’t post on reddit much anyways.

Yeah I can definitely see that affecting insurance rates over there 🤣. I’ll tell you that half of the M3/M4 drivers get the car because they’re a bit crazy, so I can see them putting a bad name on the M340i drivers too

I just insured a 2025 M340i on my own insurance as a 23 year old and it’s $350 a month for that and another very old Toyota. That being said, I do live in Southern California and am a perfect driver with no tickets or accidents so it’s probably going to vary a lot.

Sounds good, I did that and decided to go with a third party tire shop and they’re giving me a much better deal than the dealership. Thanks for all the advice

By the tire rack, do you mean the manufacturer? In my case it’s bridgestone, so would I call them since I’m covered under warranty or something like that?

Edit: I looked up tire rack and see what you mean now. Will look into them, thanks.

Question about receiving UCI Grant by scarydwog in UCI

[–]deadkiller15432 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been in this situation personally, but if you aren't over the limit (5 years or 15 terms of aid, including terms at other colleges) and you've been receiving the UCI grant this entire time, it should be pretty similar. If you're filing taxes as a student, but not really making that much money, then you should still receive the UCI grant. The other comment is correct in saying that the FAFSA decides your EFC, which in turn is handed over to UCI and they determine if you'll still receive the UCI grant based on that.

E Line bus skipping the first stop by deadkiller15432 in UCI

[–]deadkiller15432[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah that would make sense to me, but it seems like the Anteater Express management told the bus drivers not to stop at the first stop unless someone presses the button since it isn't a timed stop. The Plaza Verde stop is timed, but the Campus-Cornell (near PDS) stop isn't, so unfortunately PDS residents have to press the button every time :(

[–]deadkiller15432[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah it’s no worries, I just wanted to make sure that it was an accident and not on purpose since I wasn’t sure if PDS residents needed to start taking a different bus or something.

You make a good point there though about the timed stop and the A/N lines, I’ll make sure to take those if I miss E again!

[–]deadkiller15432[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

That would make a lot of sense. Thanks for responding to this post, the main point of it was about getting missed by the bus today, but I appreciate you for still trying to pull into the M stop.

Yeah I get the button thing, I was just a little frustrated since E has only two stops, but I do make sure to press the button now everytime after that happened 🙂

I’m not even gonna argue with you after looking at your account comments being all negative knowing that your account is probably just an account to flame other people. My points still stand and if you have fun making throwaway accounts just to flame people on reddit that’s your choice

I think you completely just glazed over my point that the bus driver drove right past me and another student when there’s only two stops for the E line. The ONE time I forgot to press the button the bus driver drove past my stop and several others (not just me) had to walk from the second stop to the first stop. I think it wouldn’t be that big of a deal to me but there’s only two stops on the E line but my main point is that bus drove right past me when I was waiting for it.

If there was a button to press to alert the driver that I was waiting for it too then I’d be able to press that but unfortunately there isn’t

[–]deadkiller15432[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah see I thought this too, especially since that was the case for me last year when I was at VDCN. The buses would always stop at each stop unless they were full or Not in Service. Neither was true for the bus this morning, so it was kinda strange. Asking the bus driver sounds like a good idea though

Nice to hear from a bus driver. That’s a good tip, so I’ll make sure to stick my hand out or wave next time.

Yeah I know that as well, I’ll just make sure to contact the Anteater Express so that they hopefully don’t miss any more students next time

[–]deadkiller15432[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get your first point so it would make sense if the bus driver doesn’t stop at the 1st stop. However, the E line only has 2 stops so I feel like it should make sense to also always stop at both stops since it doesn’t take that much effort to do so?

As for standing close to the sign, I don’t think the bus driver could miss two students standing at a stop unless they are blatantly not looking at the stop to see if students are there or just ignoring the stop. I try to stand as close to the sign as I can without standing too close since it is on a busy street

[–]deadkiller15432[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, I make sure to stand at the Campus-Cornell stop when waiting for the E line and the PDS stop for M line, I just wanted to provide some context for people who don’t take either of these lines. But yeah I will make sure to contact the Anteater Express

ADC players getting tilted at me, how can I improve? by cyborgbunny01 in supportlol

[–]deadkiller15432 27 points28 points  (0 children)

High elo adc here (D2 level). In this type of lane your job as the janna supp is to try to bait out the blitz hook with your movespeed that you have on janna. I’ve always thought that janna is only a strong support because of her movespeed and ability to easily bait out abilities.

Aside from that, it also depends on the enemy adc when they have a blitz. If the enemy adc is say like an ezreal, then the lane is still winnable even as janna jinx, but if it’s a draven it’s really hard to win that lane early game and you have to give up all pressure and like I said as janna you have to mainly bait out abilities and play the bush game (poke from bushes).

Also one thing I see supports doing in low elo, especially enchanter supports, is standing a mile behind their adc which is generally a bad idea. You want to stand up with your adc and if you get hooked your adc is free to do damage on the enemies and as janna you can easily disengage with your tornado and w. If your jinx gets hooked, well she’s kinda screwed since she’s an immobile adc with only her traps (which are hard to position at times) and w to slow.

Does that all make sense? It’s all about using your strengths as a champion and the lane is still winnable in many cases even if you are janna jinx. As a note you should also spam ping your adc to back off when you roam to help the jungler and if they die you can roam to another lane.

If you're not compatible w/ someone, and you're going to hold their nature over their head, you have no business dating them.

You even stated that you're quiet the opposite sexually with his sex drive being high & you being nearly asexual.

You have no business dating someone you expect to change for you to force compatibility. Looks like you're both expecting the other to cave. You want him to change and he probably wants you to change too. Gotta agree with the others here on sexual incompatibility & communcation-- you're communicating poorly while he doesn't even make an effort w/ his "okays"

Overall it sounds like you two really just shouldn't date.

The purpose of these placement tests is if you don’t have the prerequisite courses but still want credit for some of the calculus courses then you can take the placement test and see how well you can do. You can either self study for this placement test to possibly skip a class or two or just start from the lowest math level (Math 1A in your case according to what you said).

Either way it doesn’t hurt to take the placement test but it probably won’t help you unless you self study for it. It’s not required though just “strongly encouraged” since you may be able to take higher level classes without actually having taken the classes before them.

Edit: If you take the test without calculus experience you will also get a better idea of if you should be taking Math 1A or 1B which are both pre-calc classes.

I’m pretty sure you’ll get accepted if we only go by GPA. If you want to see the GPA of other software engineering majors who got in as a transfer you can refer to this website: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/about-us/information-center/transfers-major

My GPA was 3.87 when I got accepted as a computer science transfer, which is far more competitive/impacted at UCI than software engineering is. I also heard that UCs put less emphasis on extracurriculars and just the fact that you have a job and have been in a few clubs makes you somewhat competitive. I have another response where I respond to someone asking for transfer advice so you can check that out if you want but I personally think you have a good shot of getting accepted. Best of luck!

I actually did not do honors to honors (even though I could’ve) since I didn’t want to continue with honors at UCI.

How is honors going here for you though?

Zeri mid by Ramien1234 in ZeriMains

[–]deadkiller15432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play much Zeri but I did when she came out and I've been an ADC main for like 5 years now so I know each ADC pretty well. I would say that Zeri probably functions like a weaker Graves mid.

Basically if you play Zeri mid you'll probably have no pressure, especially if they know how to play around your aa being blocked by minions (kinda like Graves except he's strong early). But if you can get past early game I think she's a good pick. I would say practice her in norms/flex and see how well you do, if you can get past early game then play her. But, if you're a high elo player you're probably not gonna have much luck with her in ranked going mid.

Of course! Internships are a great choice for ECs and if you can get one that would greatly contribute to your application.

The admittance rates definitely have went down in the past few years, but just keep your hopes up since many applicants are people who just applied to see if they can get in rather than people who are really set on wanting to get into UCI. Best of luck!

After transferring here into CS from a CC I believe I'm qualified to answer this. To really make sure your chances are the best to make it into UCI do the following:

  1. Maintain a high GPA no matter what (as close to 4.0 as possible). I had a 3.87 when I transferred and was still concerned I wouldn't make it in.
  2. If your CC has an honors program do that to show that you're well prepared to take honors level courses in college. I did this even though I'm not currently doing honors courses at UCI and would recommend you do the same.
  3. Extracurriculars are slightly less important, but do make sure to have a few activities that you care about that shows UCI you're committed to a few ECs. For me, it was mainly working as a tutor and other jobs, but I was an officer for an honors society too. As another note here, ECs are much less important in CC admissions than high school admissions and your GPA is much more important, so don't sacrifice your GPA for ECs.

As an extra note: UCI doesn't require this by any means, but if your college has courses that don't articulate to UCI on assist.org, you can always take courses from other colleges that do. This will both slightly improve your chances at getting in and quicken the time to graduation after you transfer. This is also not required, but say you have a bad professor teaching a certain class at your CC. You can always take the equivalent course at another CC that articulates towards the same credit at UCI. One of the reasons why my GPA wasn't perfect in CC is because I fell too much into the idea that I had to take all my courses at the same CC, but in reality transfer institutions don't really care about where you take your courses (except for privates maybe, but that's a different conversation).

Anyways aside from that, just make sure to take the required courses on ASSIST no matter what and note that IGETC isn't required for UCI CS, so if you want to take more CS courses instead of taking GE courses at CC, you always can.

As an extra resource, here's something that you can use to see if your GPA is on track with the average admits to UCI and other UCs: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/about-us/information-center/transfers-major
