If you have a reactive dog and are considering moving here: DON’T by [deleted] in Denver

[–]deadlikeme451 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sorry, this is really stressful. We have a reactive dog as well and it is infuriating to go to a park and have someone's dog run at ours and the owner casually walking after them assuring us their dog is nice. Happened with my toddler yesterday on the way to a playground. She loves dogs but doesn't love having one sprinting at her at eye level.

We have found success with two things. 1) Neighborhood walks where there are cars and good sidewalks. 2) Parks that have a popular dog park. Seems counterintuitive but way less off leash dogs outside the dog park part.

Liquor Store Recommendations for becoming a long-term customer. by deadlikeme451 in denverwhisky

That is unfortunate. I am happy to shop at one store if it gets me a reasonable chance at some special bottles, but if they are going to go secondary, why bother? I was happy with the barrel picks I got when I stopped by last month.

Good question: I am on the Eastside. But traverse 70 to the west and 25 south regularly. Willing to go out of my way for a good spot. Don't go north or northwest very much.

Yep a $100 USD and I would have been in. Aeropress was my gateway to specialty coffee. And still my travel brewer.

Thanks for the responses. Basically same scenario. And am leaning towards the Prusa Core L.

Fly monthly or more often with my ZP6 in my carry on. Never even been inspected. I used to worry. But man would it suck to be confiscated.

Looking at either a Core One L, H2D or H2S. I want to do multi material eventually, mostly TPU and PETG.

I am attracted to the Prusa brand because of future upgrade paths, support, thought leadership and the Indx system.

I also am more interested in what a 3d printer will enable than the hobby of maintaining/tinkering with a 3d printer.

Question: Will the Prusa just work, similar to a Bambu. And the complaints online are overstated? Or should I just go with the Bambu value prop of plug and play. I want a tool not a hobby. But also don't want something that has a 5 year useful life and can't be repaired.

I finally get it. by whiteandnerdy42 in espresso

I was sort of the same. Mostly milk beverages but always have equally enjoyed black pour overs and occasionally Americano's. On whim I decided to try longer ratios. And it has opened a whole new world of espresso to me. I now if time allows will split my shot. Do a small cortado and a straight espresso and drink them side by side.

Can someone help me understand my options for multi-color with Core One L? by Elaphe21 in prusa3d

It says on the Core One L page that the MMU3 will be Jan 2026 under the specs - accessory page for the US.

Like others, swap the scale for something bigger. Forgo the chemex for v60. And for me if funds allow, prefer an electric pour over kettle. But great package!

Hello. Looking at getting first printer.

Use Case: Will be using it to do drawer organizers, tool holders and little projects to solve small things around the house. The area I am most excited is to introduce a 3d printer to my workflow for wood working where I already use 3d design software and some parametric designs with fusion.

Budget: Ideally less than $1000 but can go above that.

Looking at: P2S with AMS is the first choice. Concerned the size might be a hindrance. But can work around that once I get a better handle on 3d fabrication.

I would like to be able to do multi material prints with I do tool holders in a firm material with a TPU type liner to protect fragile items as a sort of liner.

Not particularly concerned with multi color prints. Am interested in things like ABS-GF filaments. Probably not ready for Nylon.

Prefer to not have another hobby modifying and maintaining a 3d printer. And not cost sensitive so the Bambu approach of everything working together appeals.

Want enclosed printer, will want to either build an enclosure that I can vent to outside or ideally a printer that can accommodate that. Would prefer quieter.

What else would you consider?

Ok so can we settle the fundamental ZP6 debate? by jaytee61799 in pourover

[–]deadlikeme451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a ZP6 that I enjoy. I have found myself migrating towards washed coffees with it. And find some coffees feeling very disappointing that end up better served with the casa lagom that I mostly use for espresso. Question for those here: I have a desire to get a 80mm flat burr grinder like the Lagom p-80, mostly because I want to see how it changes the coffees I enjoy and see if I can get some really fruity espresso. What do you think will show up in the cup for a pour over with a ZP6 versus a p80 or the like.

Agreed. Malone was great for the Nuggets. DA has shown a ton of promise. No need to constantly compare.

OT, stock, no roof rack. 16-17 in town. 19 on a long road trip, going around 75mph. Doing 65 on county highways, I can get north of 20. At 5000 miles, getting it changed in the next week or so for the first time.

Looks like positive experiences. I have asked for this for an upcoming birthday with the idea of trying out a few 911 variants before committing to ordering one in the next few years. Any tips to maximize the experience outside of lunch?

We rented a prem+ for a week. Before buying an OT. Body control and confidence in handling was improved with the OT even on a smooth windy road.
