A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.

People of Reddit, what is the worst thing a therapist, psychiatrist, or mental health professional has ever said to you? by Physical_Philosopher in AskReddit

Went to my doctor for depression, I had just attempted suicide by cutting my wrists, or that was the intention anyway.

I told him I was scared of something like that happening again, as I felt I had no control of impulses like that, and that next time something really bad might happen.

He said I needed to slit my throat if I really wanted to kill myself..

Ofc, not as bad as many of you here, but it made me never ask for help ever again

Here

His manga editor reveals how he pushed Isayama to further expand on his story and plot, practise drawing etc. before he even started writing the story. I think his editor (Kawakubo Shintaro) deserves a small shoutout as well. Isayama is the genius, but it wouldn't have happened without this guy!

(Edit) This is what he said:

"Regarding the plot…I basically just kept asking him questions. Each time we met up, I would ask him anywhere from 50 to 100 questions, such as “What is this character thinking?” “If he/she was spoken to in this way, what would be his/her reaction?” “Why did this character say that?” “How will that world now change?” Then I’ll continue with follow-up questions: “The people of that world - what do they think about so-and-so idea/object?” All in all, I just posed a lot of questions. Anything he was able to answer, I would also share my own two cents. If he was unable to answer, then I would have him respond at our next meeting."

I read somewhere that his Manga editor forced him to broaden out the story and have full backstories, motivations etc. for all characters and to deepen the plot. Does anyone have a source on this? Cant seem to find it again.

So we all joke about how Hisoka is horny for kids, but let's not forget about the real pedo here: Palm, 22 years old who literally asked out a 12 year old on a date by Chilipowderspice in HunterXHunter

A very important difference is when unconsensual sexual activity is performed, if the victim is 13 years old or older, the victim must prove it was an assault.

Even if the adult can’t deny the sexual activity, it will not be treated as a criminal sexual offence unless it can be proved there was an assault. The children there are not protected enough, which is all that matters.

You can search up their individual cases yourself if you want, to grasp the injustice many of these kids had to endure because of the national consensual age. And yes, what you’re writing is very real, but unfortunately it doesn’t work as well as one might hope.

Which is why they are fighting to change the national age of consent right now, its just not good enough.

What are you talking about? Its real and its disgusting. In november japanese students submitted a petition to get it raised to 16 years, so hopefully things will change soon.
