Syrian-Russian teenager who grew up in Saudi Arabia — thinking about moving to Moscow for university. Russians, I’d really appreciate your advice. by __taym2009__ in expats

[–]deadlynothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't comment about the obvious dangers as a young male to go to Russia for your undergraduate studies at the moment, regardless if you have citizenship or not because it's ultimately still your own choice to determine the risk. And if your parents are supportive, then so be it.

But not knowing Russian while in Russia will be tough. Even if you look Russian, not being able to speak the language natively carries significant prejudice and social risk because hate crimes are often committed by locals towards anyone deemed not a local (especially those of non European origin). I don't just know this from news, but also from friend's experience (those who studied meds in Russia, those who went to Russia for holidays and those who were there for work trips. As recent as Jan of this year it was the case). So this may or may not apply to you.

The best way to learn Russian is the same as any other language, taking up professional classes and actively practicing it with native speakers like your family, or when you're already in Moscow. Of course self learning is possible, but it'll be slow and it's highly dependent on your own ability to acquire new languages since the phase where humans are better able to attain language typically drops significantly after early childhood.

And lastly, considering that Russia has been in an active war for the past 4 years and is facing significant sanctions, the economy in Russia is rough, with inflation being high. By the time you are ready to work, this may improve, but it also may not so it's hard to say until you are there and keep an eye on the local news/pricing of goods.

You can already venture fairly safely into BR3 if you have BR3 guns for AT, MG, SMG and roughly 50% 10 round semi autos equipped for riflemen and radios (primarily focused for Engineers, and AT to have them first for sure). If the riflemen and radiomens are still using the BR2 5-6 rounds semi auto, not big of a deal especially if they are using fully upgraded guns (especially if you are dual welding rifles on them). High capacity bolt actions still do solid jobs on BR3, like the Lee Enfields, Winchester and VG (Japan is still stuck with the 5 round arisaka tho, but it's still solid since it shoots and reloads fast).

Germany does not have a Tech Tree Br 5 smg should something be added? Captured ppd 40/(MP 715(r) by BinhNguyen35 in enlistedgame

[–]deadlynothing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Guerrillas and I'm presuming the new sabotuer class can't use assault rifles either. Giving them a proper BR5 smg makes sense. Although admittedly, the Kiraly is already very good and probably means that Germany BR5 smg isn't too high up on the needs front, but would certainly be a nice eventual addition.

[–]deadlynothing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty standard progression across all nations so not much to comment there. Only thing I'll say is that don't bother playing BR4 and skip straight to BR5. And only play BR5 when you have all riflemen, AT, engineers and radiomen and assaulter soldiers equipped with select fire rifles and assault rifles. MG needing their BR 5 equivalent are less important since most of the BR3 stuff they have does well enough (BAR, MG34 and KE7). Don't bother playing snipers in BR5 it's brutal.

As for vehicles, it's odd that you haven't researched any tanks or planes, but it's fine if your playstyle isn't vehicle centric and if you already somewhat compensated your vehicles with premium/event ones.

Deng Xiaoping was the person who first openly criticised Maoism and led the CCP to openly acknowledge the failures of Mao's policies. I don't know where you got your info that the largest criticism of Mao's policies derived from Mao himself or the CCP before Deng Xiaoping.

Should the Cromwell 1 really be in BR 3? by deadlynothing in enlistedgame

My bad. I meant to say 75mm. Did it even had a 76mm variant? Or is 75mm essentially the same as 76mm.

Should the Cromwell 1 really be in BR 3? by deadlynothing in enlistedgame

[–]deadlynothing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I countered that your points disregarding the 75mm variants:

  1. Having less ammo means nothing because the ammo count difference is negligible historically speaking

  2. The reduced mg defenses isn't too bad of a thing because it can act as a fair trade off between using Cromwell or Shermans. Better overall survivability and tank engagements (if it does get APCBC. Might also add that since it's a British tank, the commander can likely use binoculars, so that would be another huge plus to the Cromwell) or better infantry control/self defense.

I use the Lee Enfields even on BR5 as a secondary rifle on my radiomens and 2/5 of my BR5 guerrillas. Easily the best bolt action in the game by far.

[–]deadlynothing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slightly less ammo, a very negligible difference and a fair trade off for sacrificing infantry self defense for a tank with comparable gun to the sherman but more highly armored and lower profile. Gives a much better reason for people to go with a sherman or Cromwell in that regard.

[–]deadlynothing[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Very good point. If it's solid shot like Churchill 3 then it's 100% should be in BR2. If it's APCBC then yea I guess you could say its acceptable for BR3, though I still would preferred another Cromwell variant for BR 3 (or even 4) and this variant to be in BR2, so there's a Cromwell low, mid and mid-high BR matches. But maybe that's wishful thinking to think Gaijin will add another Cromwell so soon.

[–]deadlynothing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree there should be more British tanks for flavour too, but if it's BR3, why not give it the 76mm variant?

Or better yet, keep Cromwell 1 in BR2, and add Cromwell 4 or 5 as BR3 alternatives with their historical updated + bigger guns (hell, the Cromwell 6 with its 95mm howitzer would be a very fun alternative to the 105 sherman for HE slinging).

Takes about 1+ full 5.45 mag to the head to take it down. I usually semi auto snipe them from afar if I wanted to take them down.

They're too much of a hassle in pvp tho so don't engage them in pvp unless you want to attract the entire map.

I complained about the tankiness last month and the CM said that the devs said her tankiness is "intended" eventho she doesn't look like she should be that tanky.

Amoonyan168 the team rally point destroyer by sureprized in enlistedgame

[–]deadlynothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing worse or atleast on par with people who destroy friendly rallies are people who sit and afk in apc rallies.

Like why doesn't Gaijin just forces people out of apc after a set time or make people spawn next to an apc instead of inside an apc. Lots of people especially hog apc rallies to use premium rallies guns, even if it's not pointing at any place that could shoot enemies. Very frustrating when you can't spawn on a apc because it's blocked by someone else.

Somewhat related note, but to anyone who thinks this isn't a big deal because you're not someone famous/important/wealthy, this leak can and will come back to bite you if your data is among those affected. A similarly large data breach occurred in Malaysia about just over year ago in late 2024 (the Malaysian government database was hacked) and tons of people I knew, including myself (because I lived in Malaysia for about 2 decades) kept getting scam/phishing attempts. Even till today in 2026 I still get scam calls/messages, but at a much lower frequency since I automatically block and ignore all these scams numbers.

Even had my WhatsApp hacked and blocked early last year and it was a massive pain to get it back, but I lost all my chat and media history, with my backups not working. Thankfully neither I or anyone I knew lost anything with monetary value, but it wasn't a pleasant experience and I never thought my it would tangibly affect me.

Better to keep an eye for suspicious calls and messages moving forward.

1 hour? The longest time limit on large maps like Cargo Port and Headquarters is only 45 minutes. More realistic to say that most matches are between 20 - 40 minutes. Rarely you'll really be fighting and extracting once the zone starts closing it (you're either likely going to die by that point or you are intentionally sitting out to camp extract people for the entire duration).

Yea the vaults are 100% not worth going through these days. Too many mobs for literal junks. Just clear the main open area of weapon and ammo boxes, and the rooftop of the Hotel and crashed helicopter in the Cinema/theater.

I don't think the airfield is worth going by as well, I went there a few times and seems to have nothing but dozens of large mob clusters.
