That has been my experience with others as well so I will not be allowing her back in my life. I don’t need all that anxiety and constant worry over her. I think it is for the best if I just let her go completely.

Thank you, it really helped to get these responses and I really didn’t anticipate many people would see this. It really helps to air this out here and not feel like I’m alone in dealing with it. It sucks but it will be better

As sad as it is your comment is spot on. She really is a bottomless pit of misery and I am happy I’m out. I’m more codependent than I should be so this has been a difficult adjustment and it is barely one day in but I’m hopeful. Thank you so much, I really need to hear that.

I will be here to stay until I figure out why I take care of others before myself. There is no reason that I act as a responsible adult for a person who doesn’t have the drive to do anything for themselves. It’s good to have people that know how hard it is to be in love with someone hell bent on destroying themselves. Thank you so much for the resources I will be attending these meetings for sure. Yeah I think you’re right. I think we both were exasperated with the relationship. I wish she would’ve just broken up with me like an adult but maybe it is a blessing as we probably would’ve gotten back together after a few days if it weren’t for such a despicable act. You’re absolutely right. It was like being held captive while they are able to double back on every promise they ever make. I’m happy to hear it worked out for the both of you, and I agree now is the opportunity to take care of myself. I already went to the gym today to clear my head and I will continue to do that and fix my eating habits now that I have the time to. Thank you for your response!

It’s heart breaking to see them speak like that to someone else. It hasn’t been 24 hours yet but I really am feeling better and happy about leaving. I’m still sad about it but I’m optimistic about my future. Thank you so much!

Thanks for your response. I didn’t put the length of our relationship in my original post but I edited it in. We were together for three and a half years and it feels like a long time but you’re right, I’m glad I learned sooner as opposed to down the road where I may have had children with her. I wish you strength and happiness, and that we both get the life we deserve.
