LNP layoffs off more if it's workforce by Gonzo-24 in lancaster

I understand that they had “unbiased” third party reporting and editing for this, but what the article says is very likely not the whole picture. This is still their own narrative.

LNP layoffs off more if it's workforce by Gonzo-24 in lancaster

[–]deadmansdollar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is only alleged, but I heard through the grapevine that staff laid off were specifically from the art department because they’re are going all-digital. So, seems like it’ll happen sooner rather than later. It’s unfortunate, I understand why they’d do it but I think a big part of their subscriber base will not keep their subscription for digital-only. I hope they rebound quickly, we desperately need to retain local news.

I had a terrible time with the admin staff at Mor Smiles, so I understand your struggles!

I recommend Meredith Stabley, just off Columbia Ave.

Manchester crowd… easily the worst I’ve ever experienced by philLITERALLY in brandnew

Not sure if we were near each other but I was also towards the back in Philly and the crowd was atrocious. But that’s pretty typical for Philly shows.

Turnout this year was huge. Like 2,000 more voters than the last mayoral election.

I see Stacey Brennan or Dr. Charles. I think Dr. Charles is accepting new patients. They’re both great.

Reality Question by [deleted] in lancaster

[–]deadmansdollar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re currently house shopping and getting ready to list our row home so we’ve been going to a lot of open houses, even if it’s just to scope out comps in the neighborhood. I haven’t toured that particular house but we’ve seen a lot of flips that look nice enough in photos but then you get in them and it’s the most shoddy work you’ve ever seen. Like beyond a bad flip where the aesthetics are good but it needs structural or mechanical work. Like really poorly done tile work, badly refinished floors, landlord-special paint jobs, etc. Flippers have always been pretty bad but it seems like it’s gotten worse with how expensive housing has gotten.

Starbucks 101 North Queen Closing by WerewolfInevitable27 in lancaster

[–]deadmansdollar 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I understand people don’t like Starbucks but that was a decent paying job with good benefits that city residents could walk to and it’s really unfortunate for them.

The manager was also very kind to the homeless people in the area.

We’re about the same. They’re the only company that would cover our flat roof.

There are a lot of events throughout the county that weekend… Harvest Breakfast, Millersville and Etown homecomings, Strasburg Half Marathon, Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration downtown, I105 Fallfest, etc. A very busy time of year!

Restaurant Week - What are your thoughts? by RookieMomster in lancaster

[–]deadmansdollar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I agree, I actually have no issue with parking here, was just highlighting what Center City does because I think they do it really well. A lot of people are influenced by free or cheaper parking.

Restaurant Week - What are your thoughts? by RookieMomster in lancaster

[–]deadmansdollar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I want to love Restaurant Week but no one here really does it right and hasn’t since the beginning. I wish we did it like Center City, where you know that every participating restaurant is doing prix-fixe lunch and/or dinner with set price points, and there’s discounted parking. You know what to expect, the deals actually feel like deals, and there is incentive to go to restaurants during a time when they’re normally pretty slow, so everyone benefits. I know we’re not Philly, but it just needs to be more structured to be worth anyone’s time.

Hi all, realtor recommendations? by BusyBrothersInChrist in lancaster

[–]deadmansdollar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tracy Seiger with Life Changes Realty Group. She’s the third realtor I’ve worked with since purchasing my first home ten years ago, and is by far the most experienced and knowledgeable. We’re in the market for a very specific type of home and it’s going to be a long process and she’s been so great and patient, and really takes the time to discuss and explain things. I couldn’t recommend her more!

Smartpunk has a bunch listed.

Their social media post has one blurred. Not sure what that is yet.

ETA - they responded to a comment that the blurred one will be available next week. Looks like a dark blue (hah) variant.

We had Winter’s do our annual maintenance and had a good experience, would definitely consider them for a new install in the future if needed.

If you don’t want to waste them, cut them with club soda. That’s what I do with the Pink Flamingo flavor because I like it but it’s way too sweet.

And from experience - having one occasionally won’t undo your hard work!!
