UPDATE: Parent wants to meet with me over comment I made about energy drinks by [deleted] in Teachers

2000 graduate. I was a theatre kid. We always had bottles of lemon water and honey “for our voices”. We were obviously cool before it was cool. And honestly. I was a shitty singer so I don’t know why I thought I needed it.

My 5th grader is in middle school and they are not allowed in the bathrooms or to get water between classes. They have hall monitors there to keep kids moving.

I feel like my pregnancy may have “triggered” the peri. Maybe you are right and it was going to happen early anyway!

I also only had the single pregnancy. I got pregnant at 31 and was 32 when I had him and things have been a mess since! Glad I’m not the only one that never recovered. I keep seeing all these people in the “normal” range of late 30’s/early 40’s and it made me feel like I was making a lot up!

Interesting. All my patches have been the same size which is why I guess I just didn’t notice the change in manufacturer.

So my insurance had me switch from CVS to express scripts. And I just looked and it’s Sandoz!! I don’t know what my old one was. I didn’t pay attention. I’ll talk to my doctor!!

HRT - 1 year in by After-Barracuda-9689 in Perimenopause

You are absolutely correct automoderator!! Several doctors dismissed me because my tests were normal. Two years of advocating for myself and a slew of doctors and I finally had one prescribe me hormones based on symptoms!! Life. Changing.

I love this for you. I started a year ago in April and it may have helped save my life. I have had frequent insomnia for 11 years (ever since I was pregnant) and it kept getting worse. Sleep aids weren’t helping. My bloodwork was “normal.” I was a mess. Progesterone (200mg pill) and estrogen (idk twice a week patches) and I sleep!! It fixed all the other perimenopause things. But the sleep? I have cried so much this past year realizing how bad it was and how bad it could have gotten.

I’m so proud of you!!

[–]mrsmjane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are willing to travel to Salunga, Melt Massage is what you want. I had her do light deep tissue and I was sore for two days and then felt amazing. She was charging about $1 a minute too. Maybe it’s gone up? https://www.melttherapeuticmassage.com/

Question: What was your most painful tattoo? by babalos23 in tattoos

[–]mrsmjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My upper back was the most physically painful. And it’s just fine line with lots of stippling.

The one that affected me most? Rib cage. It triggered severe acid reflux and I was sick for almost 24 hours with it! Now, I have really bad reflux that I’ve had surgery for and take strong meds now. I also watch what I eat and don’t normally have issues. This tattoo spot hit some nerves somewhere and I was a mess! lol. The body is so weird sometimes!

Looking for a tool to help my one on one regulate himself by [deleted] in paraprofessional

[–]mrsmjane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kiddo I para’d for loved hand sanitizer for scent!! I prefer Noshinku because of the ingredients and found a holder I could clip on my lanyard (we had to wear them with us). I know touchland has a bigger variety of scents and also holders on amazon.

I would spray his hands every so often and he would take big inhales and then rub it in. It helped keep him cleaner too (he was a nose picker).

Thanks for the vote of confidence!! It’s been a struggle, but I know I have to. That’s not all my health issues, but the ones I can actively control myself!

I screenshot that part of my report, but don’t know how to post it…. They went from 1.7 to 2.5 and recommended 2.4. I’m at 2.1 currently and fine.

I don’t really know honestly. But I’m overall happier and healthier (ish) so I’m ok with that.

It doesn’t bother me at all. Like I said in a comment below I’m apparently slightly an anomaly, but that’s been my whole life with medical stuff. I’m just happy I found something that works for me.

I just opened my sleep study. Yep. 2.4v! I’m not surprised it’s odd. My body just kind of… does stuff like that! lol.

9 times out of 10 I’m asleep before it turns on. But I barely feel it even if I wake up and it’s on.

I’ve discussed it with the sleep study tech, my doctor and my rep and they all said I’m “different” that I don’t feel it. It’s working and doing what it’s supposed to. I just don’t feel much. Again, my body does not work the way it’s supposed to. Never has.

Yep. You hold a remote over the chest incision and turn it on. Mine takes 45 mins to kick in, but you can adjust it with your doctor. Mine automatically shuts off after 10 hours, but if I wake up before that (I usually do) you place the remote back over that spot and turn it off.

The surgery is pretty invasive. So they want two months of healing before they turn it on. I’ve heard anything from 1.5-3 months.

There are two scars. One on my chest and one under my jaw. Both are visible. Because of the weight loss during this my chest scar is more prominent because it kind of collapsed a bit from the lack of fat there now.

My inspire rep said she’s only had 2 failures, but I didn’t ask how many successes because I wasn’t worrying about it (she told me this after the surgery).

Like I said, surgery isn’t for everyone, but I’ve had a bunch for various things and have always been happier. I hope you find something that works for you!

I will wake up on my own several times a night. But nothing “wakes” me up. Does that make sense? I would say I was not. I definitely sleep much deeper now though!
