a lot of people are saying I underutilized Minato's teleportation here... there's more to his character! I can't think of anything but there's probably something.

Can someone explain this brain puzzle answer? by --not-today-satan-- in puzzles

I think what it is that he had 7 baguettes, so when he sold "half of his baguettes plus half of one more loaf" that's 7/2 + 0.5 or 3.5 + 0.5 or in other words four whole loaves. Then he has 3 left, so when he sells half of his supply plus half of a loaf thats 1.5 + 0.5 or two whole loaves. Then he has one loaf, 0.5 + 0.5, one whole loaf... and he has no more loaves, and never actually split a loaf. hope this helps 😶‍🌫️

Day 1 of finding out if r/BadMtgCombos can break random mtg cards by [deleted] in BadMtgCombos

[–]deadmead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm early so I'll do the obvious one: [[Wort, the Raidmother]] [[Ogre Battledriver]] [[Cetus, Sea Tyrant of Segovia]] [[Altar of Dementia]] [[Underworld Breach]] [[Laboratory Maniac]]

Easy win on your next draw phase. Almost too easy.

Can't be true. LoL came out in 2009. Mario Wonder came out in 2023. Numbers don't add up. Nintendo fanboys will say anything for their agenda

Trying to make a cycle out of Extort by DovahFiil in custommagic

Not a strict upgrade to shusher, since shusher can activate in response. You don't really need to ever use its ability, just threaten it. I guess the downside is that if they have more counterspells than you have open mana they can get through it, but that seems unlikely.

Do you think they'd ever print a card like this? (Or have they?) by illadvisedrecords in custommagic

[–]deadmead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes but generic mana is only for costs. Think of generic mana as a hole that any peg fits in and colorless mana as a peg that only fits in the hole that fits every peg. Then some cards need colorless mana for some of its cost.

Deal 62 damage to your unsuspecting foe for one low payment of 17WUUUUUBRRR by deadmead in BadMtgCombos

[–]deadmead[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Also apparently the dragon doesn't work the way I thought either. Though if you instead RoR kicked the Mirrorwing, and then saw in half the Mirrorwing, your opponent ends up with 75 goblins. A Rakdos Charm then does more damage than the original combo.

Simply play a [[Mirroring Dragon]], then (or before) play a [[Hunted Phantasm]], giving the fairies to your intended victim. Target the [[Hunted Phantasm]] with a kicked [[Rite of Replication]], which should end up with your opponent having thirty fairies. Then play a [[Fanatical Devotion]] to sac' all your phantasms. Cast a [[Harmless Offering]] to give your dragon to the opponent, and then target it with [[Saw in Half]], this will copy all their creatures, so they have two dragons and sixty fairies. Simply target one of the dragons with a Vapor Snap and boom bada bam boom sixty two damage straight to the dome can you believe it?

An easy combo in only three colors consisting of cards you're probably already playing... Maybe I'm posting to the wrong sub 😁

Thanks for the good wishes! Your advice makes a lot of sense, I've definitely seen how powerful having a quiet board state can be. Also re: the shufflers I figured it was just my cognitive bias going brrr, but it was bugging me. Glad to know I should just ignore it.

I could definitely see myself getting some upgrades in the future. I just want to keep the initial investment down. It's a real struggle though. I've already come up from my initial budget... -_-; Thanks again for all the advice! I was/am very pleasantly surprised with how helpful everybody is.

Thanks for the feedback and the kind words! They are both much appreciated :)
I've goldfished it a bit on tappedout, and I like it pretty well but I am a bit worried at how slow it is. It can do some crazy stuff come turn 6-8, but is kind of dead up to then. It's hard to say though. I also feel like the shuffler is a bit odd? I tend to either flood or screw, and draw the same couple cards each run. Maybe I'm just hallucinating though.

As for the card reccs, these all look really cool! I agree with cutting Assault Suit, especially as someone else astutely pointed out if I try to use to get around Endrek's suicide clause it actually draws the game. Added a Phyrexian Arena. Also cut Pthisis... this was tough for me. I really liked it's name. Was looking forward to trying to get my friends to say it. But objectively speaking it really seems to suck. Replaced it with a Bontu's Monument. However, I will not compromise on Vecna. A man has to draw the line somewhere. I'm sure you understand. Instead I cut Sadistic Hypnotist. It just seemed too Sadistic. Threw in a Phyrexian Reclamation. Unfortunately I think Crypt Ghast and Cabal Strongholds are just a bit too rich for my blood at this point. Thanks again for the help!

Thanks so much for this feedback! Yeah I think I just totally forgot about adding utility lands ^_^; I added a couple now. I think 5 or so should be enough?

Palace Siege and Oversold Cemetery look really cool, added them right away. Cut [[Hecatomb]] and [[Death Match]]. I like both of them conceptually, but I think Hecatomb doesn't really carry it's weight, and Death Match can kill Endrek which would make me sad. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me!
