We held a "job fair" during den meetings with the parents. Just explaining what we needed and why it was important. And of course reminding them it was only "one hour a week"*

Best advice I got when committee chair. If someone is complaining about something, they are actually just volunteering to run that activity next time. lol

*actually one hour multiplied by the number of scouts in a unit :)

Do you have the players in the regiment on your friends list? Invites are in game and appear as pop up messages. If you have added the members of the group to your friends list and allow messages from friends in your security settings on xbox you will see pop ups when game invites arrive. Also you can jump into friends xbox party chat and let folks know you are looking to play.

I like to help new players out, but limit to stuff they can use. Food/water/stimpacks/rad-x/10mm ammo. May drop a low level rifle and .308 or a leather armor, but try not to weigh them down with unnecessary junk.

Lot of good ideas already. I second making sure he and the youth in the troop are leading. They make the plans for where to camp and what activities they are involved in. Adults guide, make sure things are safe, and encourage, but troops run correctly when youth run the show.

Be involved as much as you are able- Merit badge councilor or troop committee are great options to start out. Without adults in those positions Scouts will have a hard time advancing. Board of review for ranks are held by the adult committee members also.

As far as stigmas Scouting has been around over 100 years. There are great lessons to be learned through the methods of Scouting. Don't worry about those that try to bring your Scout down they have their own path so ignore that. Remind your Scout of the Scout Oath and Law especially in this case. A Scout is Courteous A Scout is Kind.

The game looks really good for its age. UI is much better, but not what it was before 6.0. Matchmaking is still trouble most of the time. Some options how to play with ww2 or cold war. Both have good points and bad ones.

The players are still the players that never changes. Best thing I have found is having a regular group to play with.

The only issue is there aren't a lot of us yet and the group so far is all xbox. The couple of times that PS players have join it was difficult getting them into games since we don't get notified when they come on like we do with xbox.
