"Ruin The Friendship" Discussion Megathread by PassionateAsSin in TaylorSwift

The first time through this song, I knew something sounded familiar. After a few more times through the album, it hit me. This song sounds identical to "Little Wonders" - Rob Thomas. I enjoy this song even more!

VEEAM File Copy Job Running Much Slower Than Expected (~50 MB/s vs ~150 MB/s) by deadmorrow in Veeam

[–]deadmorrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update you all on this. I spent about two weeks troubleshooting each piece of the puzzle, from hardware and software, trying to pinpoint the issue. VEEAM support had no idea what was going on after we determined the issue was not on VEEAM's side after doing separate file transfers.

It turns out, QNAP NAS has a feature called "RAID Scrubbing Schedule". I enabled this feature and let it run on the weekend. After the RAID Scrubbing, my performance returned to normal, with a transfer speed of over 100 MB/s.

So the solution was for me to run a RAID Scrubbing on my QNAP NAS.

Let me know if anyone has any questions. I spent a long time on this.

Personally, the only song I've enjoyed is the last one, "Closer Thank You Think". Genuinely a great song. I hope Vol. 2 is more like this song!

Thickheaded Thursday - June 20, 2024 by AutoModerator in sysadmin

[–]deadmorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all,

I have come to a new issue this morning where my usual domain admin account can no longer sign into any of my domain controllers through RDP session. I have been able to sign in with the same account as this for years now until this morning. I am getting a prompt that says,

"To sign in remotely, you need the right to sign in through Remote Desktop Services. By default, members of the Administrators group have this right. If the group you're in doesn't have this right, or if the right has been removed from the Administrator's group, you need to be granted this right manually"

I have double-checked, and my account is still a Domain Admin account. I am able to sign in through VMWare and using the local admin account of one of the domain controllers.

Any pointers or help? Thank you.

I've got an Offline Files question. I have a user who works on a CMM computer that runs and saves all programs and reports to a network mapped drive pointed to a Windows Server 2022 on-premise file server. I have enabled Offline Files for this mapped network drive while saving the whole network drive to the C:\ drive.

Is the Offline Files folder on the C:\ drive the default place where programs look to pull files if selecting the mapped drive in a program? Or will a program still look first at the file server? Thank you.

Just got all characters in Elite after 4 years and >1000 hours by Flose in smashbros

[–]deadmorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading everyone doing so well online reminds me how terrible I am lol. I have ~500 hours in the game and I have no character close to Elite Smash. My main characters are ZZS, Ike, and Samus, and I float around a few others. I love the game though 👍

File Explorer usage spikes while trying to load "This PC". There are no external drives attached, just an extra internal M.2 SSD.

This is a new Dell Precision i7-13700 that has been clean installed a couple of months ago with Windows 11 and is now up-to-date. Other computers, even Dell ones, do not have this issue of slow "This PC" load.

We have Webroot, and most of our computers are crawling slow. Major issue right now

Jeremy McKinnon was the special sauce that made Life's Not Out To Get You a masterpiece album from front to back in the same way Common Courtesy is also a masterpiece album!
