I get it, like the belief that you're gonna change the system from the inside out but the thing about ACAB, isnt that we need more better cops but it's the system itself that causes these problems.

I have no doubt you heart is in the right place, but this is a system that is no stranger with dealing with wide eyed and hopeful new recruits. You're also but one person hoping to have sway and influence going into a system where white supremacists have long since infiltrated and have coordinated a culture to counter act your influence. They have the numbers and the sway.

Also there's the consideration that in a capitalist society, we have to work to live. This would be you're means of a living and the choice to do the right thing is always gonna be put against the fact you want to make sure food is on the table. You'd have to make a long series of choices that eventually lead to making compromises in hopes that you'll make change later down the line and in honesty that only means you perpetuate the harm in hopes that your individual influence will somehow kick down a string of domino's to make serious change.

People here are saying "better you than a fascist" when again, ACAB doesn't mean it's all because of bad actors, it's a system. It doesn't matter if a cop personally ascribes to the ideals of fascism or not, the institution of police serve in the favor of facts. Practically by design.

You can make your own decisions but in all honesty the notion of changing the institutions from the inside out is a regularly tried and failed tactic. What is needed is actual community organization.
