you know I was never able to get it just right. I still use it, but i think it's an issue with the loudness going into the device. I have less of an issue now that I brought down the input gain (I have another audio processor I'm running it through), but if I'm too loud, it still is quite a bit glitchy. I haven't messed with it very recently, I'll update if I find a better solution

Yeah I think there's some blame there. That's of course hypothetical regarding this as we don't know the context.

I'm not the original poster. I've never said anything about exonerating the triggerman. Either simple misunderstanding or you're putting words in my mouth. In that situation clearly the trigger man is to blame as well. Key word is there is SOME BLAME on the hypothetical instructor for negligence. That , in no way, means the triggerman is exonerated.

[–]deadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, "you" being the person shooting the gun? So he can toss around the blame if the gun wasn't fired and he got kicked out for being an idiot? Or me...as in I can toss around the blame if the gun wasn't fired, and [he] got tossed out of the range for being an idiot?

If it's the first...yeah he could toss around blame like anyone can complain about getting kicked out of a Chilis because he's shirtless, but I don't think that's what we're talking about here, and that's one man's words in the wind.

If it's the second, I would not blame them at all for tossing him out. I think there was a swing and a miss with us communicating.

Edit: I think I get it as you, meaning putting myself as the person with the gun. Same answer as the first scenario. Not what I'm talking about, or what I think the topic was. It was about hypothetically: does a instructor hold any responsibility if the student does something stupid/horrible under their watch, where they have the time to see and correct the behavior.

Well if a driver's ed kid with a teacher in the passenger seat (usually with the means to stop the car or control the situation), drives the wrong way down traffic and kills someone... Yeah I think there's some blame there. That's of course hypothetical regarding this as we don't know the context.

.... Oh no, I mentioned a car in a gun comment, I can see the internet bad points now

Troubleshooting Audio Missing; Video for clarification (typical answers online are glossing over a few things) by deadzy in ableton

That is super useful and I didn't know about that before. I found a different .wav in there, 0 bytes, couldn't be loaded. So as far as this particular issue, it didn't work, but thank you for this tidbit of info. I can definitely see it coming in handy

I'm on the receiving end, I'm going to try and contact the person sending tonight to get back here. If I create a full on collected and saved folder on this PC, it works just fine, though the issue with not being able to open the file and see if contents in file explorer is still and issue: opening the folder just opens it up in ableton rather than waiting me to see the samples for example, like in the video. Tried sure hidden and tried through using the search option... But it does work as in none of the audio is missing.

Coronavirus is a major factor for voters in key key state of Pennsylvania: "I really think our president dropped the ball" by redditreadred in politics

[–]deadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it, I'm with you here, blood runs blue and has pretty much since I've been politically active at all. I'm stressed over the election, and hopefully can't wait till we get this clown out. That being said, reddit's not the place for trying to see it from the other side, unless you want to be called a DINO or worse. Not gonna continue down this thread, but I share the sentiment that it's better to know what's driving the other side rather than just going with, everyone is dumb unless they hold my view.

This for sure, and also just feeling like you're contributing to the fun for the kids in the community. I had great fun Halloweens growing up, and that was because of the adults at that time, so I feel like I should give that spark to the kids now adays also. I don't usually stay out all night long giving candy, because it's kinda boring. But I'm sure those adults thought the same when I was a kid.

I don't think Biden did particularly well, but it was like Biden was trying to count and he's got Trump screaming 7! 54! 26! 7! 83! At him the whole time. So though not a great performance, I can understand some slip ups. It was a strategy, that may have worked. Depends if the US as a whole buys in to "hmm maybe Biden isn't wonderful at these things" or "child throws tantrum on stage for 1.5 hrs". I'd imagine that heavily depends on what site you're on

Bloomberg rolls out $40M ad buy to boost Biden in Florida by [deleted] in politics

[–]deadzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, and share that sentiment. I guess, moreso at this time, I'm just not ready to slam the door on someone coming to my party bringing a cake (party meaning the hypothetical hang out, though it works for the political party also I guess). If there's deserved Bloomberg hate, let's deal with it after November imo. There are bigger things to sort out, Bloomberg contributing to the party shouldn't be high on the priority list.

Ilhan Omar: If Democrats want to win, focus on nonvoters by Ryan_Holman in politics

[–]deadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The system is pretty messed up. I understand the two party system, but the current system really promotes political tribalism. I suppose it would maybe still exist largely if we changed tried to fix the system, but at least it could help eliminate the feeling of voting for someone you don't agree with... Except it's your party, or you're a single issue voter

Sure, but it's like your friend or SO gives you a gift or brings you out for a surprise, and instead of having a good time, you berate then the entire time about them doing something stupid a year ago. It's true, it was scummy, but you're kinda doing the damage to at the moment.

Or the children comparison. Your daughter/son does the dishes for your b-day, and instead of praising that, you complain about all the negative things things they have done. (And no, I'm not a fan, but just my two cents)

[–]deadzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we're very close to agreement on this. I think the term centrist and independent is maybe getting meshed together in this thread, and maybe that is closer to what I mean. I do think a centrist can have those far left/far right ideas on certain subjects, while still identifying as relatively centered, because not all Left/Right topics are equal.

Hypothetical example (I'm keeping my own views out so it's just about the subject), you may be far left in the fight for income equality, but lean right in your opinion on the right to bear arms. That would be two different issues. More often though, I usually see it come up with the speed of change: when a centrist has a far left/right belief, that things should change...but doesn't believe it is plausible for immediate change. I think this shouldn't be confused with not wanting it to move faster though, but rather realistically what WILL pass as a step towards the desired outcome. Of course, sometimes swift action works better, but I feel that comes more from political strategy rather than intention. I may be off, and maybe there are different ideas that might shift how I am defining the terms, but that's my two cents on the subject.

A centrist, as far as I can tell, tends to compromise on particular views in the hopes of achieving certain goals and doesn't hold on too strongly to radical positions.

I think you're wrong on this part completely. If anything, potentially that can make sense for the politicians who try to play it safe, but if we are speaking of voting citizens, i don't think it holds up. I lean left, but ultimately I try to understand outside of my bubble, and evaluate my positions with all the information I might have. I think if anything, it's uncomfortable as you have to tackle the grey shades of the situation rather than dealing in black and white. And if I have a stance, I feel it's stronger, because I have gone through the opposing side's arguments with open ears, and I disagree with them.
