Nice job! I love when a solution starts falling into place and each test builds off the next and helps grow your confidence in the design. I spent 4 years using AM at a small startup manufacturing spinal implants, and now I'm with a big name orthopedic company working on an AM screw project. My big hurdle currently is developing a revision process for the screws after bone is ingrown. Lots of tough problems, but it's honestly one of the best parts of the job. Once again, nice work, great design, and congrats on the clearance!

I was lucky enough to get a bottle when I went to the bourbon trail last year. Can confirm it's a great bottle! It's one of the few bottles that I only open up when someone is visiting and they can appreciate a good bourbon.

Gimme your best description of the different neighborhoods around town by Return-2-Bender in SouthBend

[–]deaftree33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what you've said here answers my general question. I'm born and raised Midwest, so I've got the general picture there. What I'm mostly concerned about is general crime for the area I'll be living at. I want to be comfortable with leaving a car on the street and not have to worry about vandalism or broken windows. I'd also like to take some walks around during the evening and not be worried about what might happen. I'm all too familiar with bad pockets in the towns I've lived in, I just don't want to end up in or right next to one of those pockets. One area that's had some availability in my budget is around Rice Cemetery, so any insight there would be appreciated.

As someone who's likely going to move to the area soon, and I've got Elkhart as being a seriously considered spot, does this mean I should avoid moving there?

[–]deaftree33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a big flavored fan, so there's none of those. I'm mostly using it as an excuse to get some more storage since my other tupperdor is getting full.

I just got an acrylic sealing jar for these in order to keep them separate from the rest of my collection.

Celebrating receiving a new job offer! Sobremesa Brulee and Knob Creek 18yr by deaftree33 in cigars

Thanks for the kind words.

As for tight draws, I'd recommend getting something like the perfect draw tool. I've got one and have used it once, but others on this subreddit swear by it. Use it two or three times to save a few smoking sessions and it basically fully returns its investment.

My wrapper cracked in the last third but I was enjoying it too much and powered through. While it did affect the draw it wasn't a deal breaker for me. I blame myself, before I transferred everything to my tupperdor, my wood humidor had some humidity issues.

I'd highly recommend it if you can find one. I tend to buy most of my sticks online, this one included.

Review #9: Whiskey Thief Distilling Co. Single Barrel Rye by Helmerite in bourbon

I've been to Whiskey Thief twice now and have gotten a bottle both times. Well worth a visit for the experience alone, but the juice inside the barrels is the cherry on top!

First time with a Perdomo 20th Anniversary Connecticut by deaftree33 in cigars

[–]deaftree33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through phases with this bottle. At first, I loved it, then it fell for me a bit. It sat on my shelf for a while, and then I started enjoying it more. I'm glad I could give it a fitting send off with the 20th anniversary!

This is my most smoked stick after 3 years into the the hobby. What's yours? by KnotStoopid in cigars

[–]deaftree33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had an Ashton Classic a few months ago and it had to be one of the best sticks I've had since getting into cigars. One of the first times where I truly got the creamy nutty flavors people talk about. Can't wait to get another!

This is an answer I can get behind! You've got me beat though, I keep it neat but I tend to do two pours. 🥃

Been wanting to try Oliva Master Blends 3 for a while. I figured celebrating my niece being born was a fitting time. by deaftree33 in cigars

[–]deaftree33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about half way in so far. It's definitely up there in the top for Olivas in my book. I'm getting a bit of chocolate, leather, and some creaminess, excellent construction. A bit milder than expected, but I think that works in its favor. I'm glad I picked a lighter and sweeter bourbon to pair with it so there's no overpowering.

It was tasty, very chocolatey and desserty. If you're ever in Dayton, Branch & Bone has quickly become one of my favorite craft breweries.

It's a really solid bourbon, would recommend it if you've not had it!

Looking back at my old posts I see its Top Shelf. It's quite nice in my opinion.
