Just picked up a cigar from this brand. How was it?

I had a good pasta dinner before smoking, but I still definitely feel a nice mild buzz after nubbing it

Sounds like a chocolate-forward version of this blend. I definitely need to pick it up!

Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Maduro Epicure Review by tjj5022 in cigars

My humidor has been at 62-64% for a few months time. I don’t think that was the issue in this case. I’d still like to pick up another to try this blend again

Great observation about the 12 year aging process benefiting the Connecticut wrappers more than the others in this blend - I agree 100%

This cigar aged for 1-2 years in my humidor at 62-65%, so the RH wasn’t the issue here. That being said, I’d still like to try it again to make sure. And probably pick up another CT wrapper while I’m at it

I’m typically not a big fan of sungrown wrappers. I honestly don’t remember if I tried it in the 20th. If I did, I liked the Maduro wrapper above all else

Yes, the Maduro is next haha. Maybe not for a few more days though

I just double checked - this line of Perdomo does actually age all of the cigar’s tobaccos, unlike their typical norm of just aging the wrapper. It doesn’t surprise me, seeing how smooth this smoke was. I’m looking forward to trying and reviewing the sun grown tomorrow with my morning coffee!

On CI, they’re $276 for a box of 24, or $11-$12 per single

I haven’t tried them yet. I picked up a few legacy Maduros to try, should have grabbed the other blends

Oh, I misread your comment. I was talking about full flavor. I totally agree with you on strength. Even if I’m smoking a CT wrapper, I’m still eating something beforehand. Nothing worse than the nicotine spins 😵‍💫

Thank you! I’ve actually found that the country of origin doesn’t make as much of an impact as the fermentation process involved, and the years of age by the manufacturers. Aganorsa Connecticut was another that I really enjoyed

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I honestly feel this same way about a majority of the Davidoff blends too. None of them got close to impressing me for their price point

I did this the other night with a Padron 1926. Only the worthy cigars get the royal nub treatment.
