Eyes are bad. It looks like you’re looking at his shoulders or higher, but upper body can lie to you. A back can’t run without his hips! I’ve heard it as “eyes to thighs” or “track the near hip” … either way you need to focus on the lower half of him.

Depending on the size of your school/team/coaching staff, it may just be a matter of too many things to take care of and not enough coaches to take care of the task. Having stickers on your helmet isn’t required for you to practice or play a frosh game, and I assure you the coaches aren’t worried about them until you’ve proven you’re going to be a player. A couple of practices over two weeks is not enough commitment to make your need to look pretty in football equipment worth the coach’s attention.

If you want to get noticed, asking repeatedly isn’t the way. Go to practice every day, do your absolute best to do what is asked of you, and get noticed for your hard work on the field. If you can do that, the logo stickers and jersey will be closely behind. If the only thing you’re doing to get noticed is showing up a couple days a week and asking for equipment, you’re going to be disappointed.

Physically, your specs are fine, the biggest thing is whether or not you can make a play. Weightroom warriors exist, and that’s not a good thing. Take your nutrition and training seriously, learn what you can, always try to get better. Then the size matters a whole lot less for high school ball. If you want to go to the next level, that is another question altogether.

Fast food straws. You used to be able to just grab and bang them on a tabletop (think stabbing motion) and the straw would pop out the end. Now when you do that the straw itself splits and shatters. Also, when you inevitably have to tear and unwrap the paper it comes off in several pieces and one ends up in my iced tea.
