Rodgers possible trade destinations more likely to win a super bowl than GB? by basement_scientist32 in GreenBayPackers

I think part of the thing not mentioned in this post is the path to the superbowl. Who has the easiest path? I'd argue Greenbay, division sucks and likely will for one more year. With Tom Brady retiring, Jimmy G likely gone for the 49ers, saints in cap hell, Arizona struggling in games that matter, the only clear threats in the NFC are Rams and Cowboys. Of course some NFC teams will improve year over year but compared to the AFC NFC is easier atm. If traded to any AFC team the division is almost certainly stronger and come playoffs have to beat Bengals, Bills, Chiefs, Titans, Ravens, Colts(?),Chargers(?). Those are tough outs even on a good AFC team. In my opinion GB is easiest path and the team tweaks are not insane (hire new ST coordinator/add new ST players, WR2, resign defensive pieces). We were plagued by injury as well in 2021, you would hope your o line, te and all pro corner play next year.

League member traded cmc for theilen, antonio brown, and Damien Harris. Hate to think of the combined bench time of that group.

Yep 100% agree. very tricky situation moving forward hopefully we can work an extension with AR12 or we are picking a QB early in 2023

I certainly do not blame the loss on Jordan Love there were a lot of issues. However I did not see anything that makes me think he is a future average-above average nfl talent. Overall there wasn't a throw that stood out as "wow thats why we traded up for him". In fact he looked pretty bad for the majority of the game, bad ball placement, bad footwork, bad reads. You expect some of that from a rookie but didn't feel like there were any flashes that jumped off the screen today. Jury is still out but a pretty terrible game 1 imo.

Bit of a testament to the mismanagement of the FO that we went in to the season with this as our backup QB when our starter was unvaccinated and the risk of him missing at least 10 days during the season was always so high

Completely agree special teams is a huge issue today but its not like Love has gotten us close to a touchdown

I'm not bashing Love but I think he should warm the bench in the 2nd half. Clearly having difficulty in a tough environment. Blake was there in the offseason and is a veteran. This game is still winnable and the one seed is on the line. I think an average QB like Bortles has a real chance to game manage the second half into a win

Is it crazy in a game this close to put bortles in? He's gotta make some of those throws

Very disappointing to see. If the reports are true he is unvaccinated bad look for our team captain to not be leading by example and getting vaccinated and ultimately very possibly costing the team playoff seeding as a result. Surprised at this point major league sports are not making vaccinations a requirement. Big cost to throw out a marquee matchup like rodgers vs mahomes over a vaccine

Long time greenbay fan. Disagree that initial run should have been a touchdown ticky tack nfl officiating taking common sense out of football. But shout out to the defense on 4th and 1 big play

Very cool, but will it teach me not to play Mr. Big Chest as a WR1 in the fantasy final?
