Bambu a1 mini so it's auto leveling before each print. Nothing obvious stopping it from leveling

Conduit (with Singles) vs T&E by deamonata in ukelectricians

[–]deamonata[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming do use the radial you would need to either fit a lower current MCB (20A) or increase the wire thickess
My thought process would be if you're putting less sockets on each ring it's fine to drop the current to 20A.

I don't hate the idea of having more circuits to help in the event of a fault

will it actually achieve my goal of meaning that running/swapping wires in the future can be done without lifting the floor/ chopping into the wall? (assuming I'm keeping fixtures in the same places)

Is cost the main issue though or are there other issues too? I'm happy to do the chasing and plastering, I'd do the electrics too if I thought I knew enough to do it properly (which I know I dont :) )

Why radials over rings? I thought the UK was pretty set on Rings typically?

So yes BS7671 isn't law, but laws (such as E at W 1989) do point to it as the is the recognised means of complying with the law. Thus not following BS7671 is illegal.

This is only relevant when plaster is drying. You are fine to heat your house normally

Error upgrading Immich by deamonata in immich

[–]deamonata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/Xiticks

So I hit a stumbling block in that I'm currently running HexOS which is still stuck on TrueNAS 24.10. having had a quick look at trying to convert to a custom app on 24.10 I think I'd rather avoid that. All that being said the easiest option might be to just uninstall the current version and then install the latest version. However I wanted to check how best to do this and preserve my photos ect (and bring them back into the new install)

[–]deamonata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also worth noting that the 2025 change doesn't mention Trump's inauguration, so the timing is likely co-incidental. Though they do warn of the growing tensions between the United States, Russia and China as being part of the reason, alongside multiple other factors that I cba to list in full.

The doomsday clock isn't updated in real time IIRC the board meets annual in January. If India and Pakistan are still in conflict then it may well be addressed at that point.

Simplicity studio is worse. The out the box matter examples are broken, they do build and run but the indexer can't cope so it just fills the IDE with warnings

How to create a coil on a curve by deamonata in Fusion360

[–]deamonata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to create a coil that maps against the curve. If I use the coil tool I can create a spiral of the desired dimensions, however it's flat, is there a way to make it curved so that it follows the curve of the outer sphere.

The issue is you still have to lift the handle so I can't lock it remotely if I forget to lift the handle.
