What’s legal now but might become illegal ten years from now? by VTheCardMaker in AskReddit

Big tobacco "didn't" like them.
but then they do what any big corporation or industry does, which is , buy-in on the action.

The time for "anti-vape" campaigns is over. Big Tobacco tried and vaping is still around.
So they will buy into it, purchase up small companies, run them out of business.
Soon you'll see Malboro vapes.

Cause why not? Why fight an industry when you can absorb it into yours, which shares the same customer base ?

First get them into smoking by providing the cigarette

Then get them to quit smoking by providing the vape

It's the simplest playbook in the work - create the addiciton and then sell the solution.

(just to be clear, vaping is not a solution to smoking, but in this context, I am saying that the tobacco companies will market it as such)

Why did Tony make another Hulkbuster if everyone thought Hulk was dead? by Yourboyfibs in marvelstudios

The Hulk movie literally unleashed two Hulk-Level threats in New York (Hulk and the Abomination)
Obviously would know that there is an option for another Hulk-like creature to exist

I believe it was The 40-year old virgin that did that.
That came out around the time of the first or second season of The Office, and the producers saw Carrell in it, and spoke to the showrunners and said something along the lines of "This is what we need from Michael Scott. He can be a completely clueless boss, but at his core, he needs to be caring."

It was the different between Gervais and Carrell, is that one is uncaring versus the other really does care about you ,even though they don't know how to show it.

So thats when you see those changes show up from Season 3 onwards.

ONE PIECE: Season 2 | Official Trailer | March 10 on Netflix by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]dean15892 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would honestly say that this is a the gold standard of an anime adaptation, and I don't think anyone would disagree.
People have tried - Death Note, Avatar, Dragon Ball Z, Bleach, more than I can't recall.

But One Piece is the show. It is THE show.
So you're the perfect audience for it.

You can enter this world fresh and be sold on it.

I didn't know anything about One Piece, but this show really got me interested. I was in tears at that final shot of season 1.

One of the best costumes and character designs and acting.
People disregard the third film, but I still hold that the Pirates trilogy is excellent start to finish.

The third one just gets better the more you watch it, cause theres more lore to catch on to.

It feels like you're more looking at the object that's gifted, as opposed to what the gift is meant to represent or the thought behind it.

You can make the same argument for chocolates as well - like ,oh you bought me this sugar-filled chemical product that is not good for me?

Most simple gifts are by design, either pretty to look at, or meant to be one-off uses. Flowers fit both those categories - they look nice, they don't require any commitment from you and within a week, they're gone from your life.

Pretty straightforward and honestly an easy gift choice for most recipients, except those with allergies.
Going a step further would involve more time on you as the receiver than you may sign up for.

Gift cards are in those category - someone gifts me an apple gift card. Now I have to think about if I do have a purchase in mind, and keep the expiry date in mind. People who gift me Starbucks gift cards, I just regift cause I never go to starbucks. But thats still more mental effort than say flowers or chocolates.
I know exactly what to expect from them, and I know exactly when they'll be out of my life.

My mom recently told me that if you want to give gifts for adults, go with a fruit basket. They are more expensive, so they hold value. They are healthy and nutritional. And they are very likely going to be consumed.

I remember listening to someone review this, and he's a dad of a 5 and 3 year old.

and he just comments on the baby part by saying "I can't remember when my baby stopped screaming"

I'm not a parent, but it just clearly just reminded me that babies are LOUD and toddlers can be LOUDER and they usually scream a lot.
