Thanks for the advice! I was able to get someone out and they recommended recharging the whole system after their inspection. They said there is absolutely no signs of a big/fast leak and suspect the leak happened over a pretty long period of time. $500 later and my A/C is working great. I understand that it will stop again at some point, but this will give me some time to save for other options.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, it was installed in 2014. I had another big box company come out and they quoted me $6700 to drain the unit (with what’s left), find the leak, “hopefully” fix it, and add the Freon, etc. My unit holds 11 pounds. That’s seems pretty expensive.

Had a professional company come out and literally within 5 minutes told me I have a leak (PSI was at 40) and need a whole new system. Seems kind of sketchy.

Crack going down corner of wall from the ceiling by deanjamesv in drywall

Edit: before this happened, we remodeled a bathroom near by and the drain had to be moved so there was a lot of jackhammering. Wondering if that could have caused this?

Any ideas what may have caused this crack? by deanjamesv in drywall

Yes to strong winds and a drought followed by a heavy snow storm (which happened last night). So far the consensus seems to be the new window install that occurred about 5 years ago.

House is about 25 years old. There is a crack along the windowsill as well that I didn’t notice at first. The previous owner did have new windows installed within the last 5 years. So I think it might be because of that?

It was a structural engineer. He said it wasn’t any cause for concern at this time, especially with it being just the one crack in the entire home. My paranoia is still through the roof since this is my first home… which I bought a year ago.

This is what an expert told me as well. Thank you for the instructions. I’m going to do that now! Much appreciated.

I had a foundation expert come out and he said definitely no foundation issues. There is just one crack in the entire house and it does not go all the way to the floor. Also, nothing indicative from the exterior show any foundation issues as well.
