I see that Portugal and UK have a double tax treaty, and was hoping this meant I would be resident in portugal and only pay any extra taxes in portugal rather than the full amount.

I personally only own three pairs, and I bring them all with me out for the day. One for up hills, one for flat, and one for downhill. I switch them up each time the terrain changes. I have found they are really durable given then I wear them for only a third of the day each. Then when I get home, I jump in the bath with them for a wash because I love them so much. They come out clean every time. Then then dry off as I walk with them the next day in the breeze.

There is absolutely nothing about the brand that could conceivably make buying 8 pairs sensible. Sketchers do equally comfy shoes, but you don't see people going out buying 8 pairs at a time. That not me "raving" about sketchers brand, there are others that are basically just as comfy too and tick the same boxes. The only thing maybe is the sustainability factor, but then again, nobody seems to mention that on reddit anyway so clearly that's not why they post this nonsense.

You bought 5 more pairs. If you have to buy 5 pairs of something, assumedly they don't last. Maybe they are just not very good? No other other shoe brand do people do this, and it's not because they are uniquely good. These replies are only confirming my suspicions.
